The Patriots always attributed their disarming of Peyton Manning in the 2003 AFCCG to Damon Huard, their back-up at the time, who mimicked Manning's bullshit in practice perfectly. Assuming we face Manning again in January, which seems like a strong possibility, I wouldn't mind having his career understudy on the payroll.
His risk of injury due to falling off of the bench is way too high. We already have 2 backup QBs under contract and another one tendered.
the season shouldn't be lost if Sanchez goes down. regardless of who it is, we need a better back-up than the 3-headed suck-fest we have now.
name me a contending team that would still be considered a contender if their starting qb missed the season. don't worry i'll wait.
That "offensive system" was Peyton Manning and being Manning's backup doesn't magically make him a good player. If it did and Sorgi was a good player, why would they cut him? Fwiw, Clemens and Ainge also had much better college careers than Sorgi.
We are allowed to resign players of an equal or lesser value. We released TJ we can sign a back up QB. When are people going to stop hasseling other people for everything in every thread.
NOW i remember why i don't express my thoughts in here often...in 10 minutes i'm a test tube baby, a tit and i write for bleacher report. Obviously JCotchRocket is the ONLY one who knows anything about football Anyway, i love you guys for entertaining me for years.
dude the colts played curtis painter as manning's backup over sorgi this year. we all saw the mess that the colts offense became once manning hit the bench. the colts system is so good because peyton makes perfect reads and has the ability to change the play at any time he wants. the pin point accuracy and rocket arm are just a nice bonus. peyton manning has become a much better play since 2003, nobody is mimicking way he can totally pick apart a defense when he is in the zone he got in against us in the second half of that game.
We need to wait for Jim Sorgi's release...then let the Lions claim him off of waivers, and trade them an undisclosed draft pick for him.
