Where do you believe Antonio Cromartie's ranks among cb's? Also, who do you believe to be the top 10 cb's in order?
haha yea i was just kidding/having some fun IDK if Cro is top 10 ATM but he def has the talent to be. With Rex, I think he can play up to his potential esp with Revis on the other side.
FWIW San Diego's pass defense last year was ranked 12th against opposing #1 WR's, 10th against #2 opposing WR's, 9th against TE's and last in the NFL against RB's. Interesting Fact: Jets were number one, giving up least yards (29.4 ypg) to #1 opposing WRs for obvious reasons. Second were the Chargers with 46.0 ypg. Did Cro cover #1s most of the time in San Diego?
I think, and I could be wrong, but I think they played sides. I think Jammer stayed left and Crom stayed right. Unless they stacked to one side of course.

Well, to be honest, I think Rex Ryan's defense is the hardest to play in for a CB. We know Rex will probably have him on an island. I really haven't seen him play that much, but I know anybody that plays opposite of Revis in a Rex Ryan system is going to be tested and challenged by the opposing QB, and I sure hope he can step up and play better than Lito did.

Keep in mind that those numbers are reflective of him playing in a zone dominant, read & react type system. He is FAR better, and put up his best numbers, in a predominantly man coverage system under Wade Phillips which was more similar to the type of system the Jets run. He is a better fit here than SD. I believe he will play FAR better in NY than he has the last year or two in SD. IMHO Cromartie > any CB on the Jets in 2009 not named Revis.
This was my thinking as well. The system has alot to do with how a player does. a great coach adjusts the system to the players talents (IE Revis). But when that doesn't work then the player finds a new home. I see this as a vilma type move for SD. They have a talented guy who plays better in a different type of system so they trade him for a 3rd rounder.
I agree that he is better in man coverage. However, those are some pretty impressive stats for someone in a "down year" anyway
