Those emoticons in your sig are fucking gay.

So every time you create a particular post and opinion, I am a forced to look at those stupid pieces of shit.

Also, almost everything you have to say is worthless and a waste of my time, that at one point was considered free. Yet, your idiocy robbed me of that so-called "free" time...making me want to e-bash someone's e-head in with an e-two-by-four.

You're really gonna rag on me for finding the first article that had to do with this just to put a link up for the person who made a thread without a link or ANYTHING? That's cool.

Chester Taylor can NOT be acquired by the new york jets.

Unless someone signs him then trades him to us.

And were not gonna trade for another 30 year old HB

I'm four pages late, but I have to respond here.

First off this is HUGE news. So a 2nd thread on it really doesnt matter considering the first thread was called "Rex Ryan on Total Access", and again this was on NFL network. There is no link, go on NFL network and watch it yourself, they rerun NFL Total Access all day.

You're being an asshole for no reason man, bad day or something?

You don't create needs during an offseason where you have limited draft picks and the top 4 rule.
The top 4 positions the Jets need to address are
    DE
    OLB
    CB
    WR

Unless Thomas Jones wasnt filling our need @ HB anyway ?

Having him on the roster does NOT mean the need is filled. Thomas Jones proved to management that he can not handle the wear and tare week in and week out of being a primary back on a ground and pound team. Sure Jones plays good, until he gets burnt out.

Management wants someone who can get us to a superbowl NOT someone who can get us into the playoffs. They offered him a reduced role (and thus reduced salary) and he told them to suck it.

I see no problem with cutting dead weight. Plus our rushing attacks success comes from our offensive line NOT from our backfield. Unless Sanchez develops into a complete beast over the off season (thus taking away carries from our ground game), we will still remain a top 3 rushing offense in the nfl even without Jones.

Four pages and about six or seven hours too late*

We all know this is huge news. He created the EXACT same thread twice. Duplicate threads are a waste of space.

I am lucky that my cable provider has NFL Network, but a lot of posters still don't have that channel. Providing a link for any kind of news should be mandatory...especially a news story that's been a rumor for about a week or two.

I had a great day...the combine started! Thanks for asking though.

Having him on the roster doesnt mean we have filled a hole? What the heck are you talking about? He's insurance, which we saw me needed this season when Leon went down. You do know TJ is coming off a HUGE season on the ground, and didnt he just break the Jets record for rushing TDs? But you're telling me the guy is done because he was playing hurt in the playoffs because we ran him all season? I dont expect us to run him all season like we did last season, but the guy is coming off a 1400 yard season! PLEASE dont tell me he's done, he's def on the decline, but he's not done. TJ with a smaller role would work fine, Shone Greene is our guy, no doubt about it.

And you can not forget TJ's leadership which is something special.

Oh and one more thing PLEASE tell me where TJ told the Jets to suck it and that he would not take a reduced role? Please show me that, I would love to see it.

And one more thing. you said "Management wants someone who can get us to a superbowl NOT someone who can get us into the playoffs"

Are you crazy man? You're now telling me we need a RB? Because TJ clearly isnt a number 1 guy, so we must fine him? WHAT? Our number 1 back is Shone Greene, and will be for a long time. You are making no sense what so ever.

Lovin' all these personal attacks on Mr.Electric. No wonder so many people he doesn't like get banned.

And what's with people not understanding that we can get a solid running back VERY easily, TJ wasn't a playmaker, he did his job, those types of running backs seem to grow on trees though. When you have a line as good as ours (Look at how Denver had "amazing" running backs then went to different systems and faltered), So I would rather have a RB making 2 Mill rather than 6...

It is not a good idea for a SB contender that relies on the running game to get get rid of the only reliable RB on the roster. I don't like this idea one bit right now.

I haven't liked Thomas Jones much so this doesn't hurt my feelings. I like the fact that he can take a pounding, but he has no "playmaking" ability. I'd like to see us grab a tough guy who's a little quicker and elusive. Let Greene be our battering ram.

And I disagree with the "RB isn't one of our needs" mindset. IF we lose Washington on top of Jones, we'll have one RB worth a shit. I'd say RB may be something we have to address.

We knew they wouldn't pick it up, it's all about TJ taking less money. Unfortunately it looks like he is gone. This COULD be a big loss, we don't know how leon will come back and we don't know if Greene can handle load for a 16 game season. This is a HUGE gamble BUT at the same time I expect we'll be passing more next year w/ Sanchez in year 2 so that should take some pressure off the running game.

w/ all that said I am not happy to see Jones go. He was great for us and not only will his play be missed but his leadership. I wish him well as long as he doesn't go to any AFC teams.

This is how I feel. Under normal circumstances I wouldn't much of an issue with this as they're thinking proactively, but after being 1/2 a game from the SB with the uncapped year approaching (and it's restrictions), it kind of makes me think "WTF?".

Pretty safe to say that Leon will definitely be coming back now, which is good news.

I didn't expect TJ to come back this season and I'm not upset to see him walk at his age, but he had a great 3 years year. Thanks TJ!

I don't think it is safe to say that Leon is definitely coming back next year. If he gets a 2nd round tender as anticipated, he will garner some interest. If he checks out health wise I could see a team giving him a contract possibly with a poison pill that forces us to lose him as well.

Hey,leave MrE alone. Just because he acts a little bit like Mike Francessa doesn't make him a bad person.

I agree, especially with the "right now" part.

If we're to continue being the "Ground and Pound" offense, there's a lot to be said for having a solid RB who wears down defenses in the first half and sets up a situation where you can bring in the fresh legs of Shonn Greene in the 2nd half when their tongues are hanging out. The "Wear and Tear" is the precursor to the "Ground and Pound" in the 2nd half. I'm not sure Greene will be ripping off 5YPC if he has to carry the early "Wear and Tear" workload. Those are tough yards in the 1st half when any defense is fresh as a daisy.

So until I see that we've replaced Jones with a solid Wear and Tear pounder who holds onto the ball and sets up situations that make Greene and Washington open things up, I'm AWOL right now on all this. I'm still hoping it's a bluff by Tannenbaum or that he has something else lined up that fits the system as well as our running game did this past year.
