The only offensive players I could see Oakland being interested in is our offensive line / possibly leon and possibly Braylon. I think theyd be much more interested in young defensive players to help them stop the rush. Guys like David Harris would be at the top of my want list if I were an oakland fan.
We don't have a 3rd round pick. It would have to be Rhodes, Jones, and our second. But I would only do that if they gave us Aso and a 3rd.
LOL From Bleacher- "Article Writing Who is allowed to write articles on Bleacher Report? Bleacher Report is an open source network, meaning that all members of the community are encouraged to write articles as they see fit." I'll break it down, anyone you can create a account can write any article they want. If you'd like I'll go write one that the Jets just obtained Asomugha for Asomugha's rookie card, and then it will be true.
The beat writers are just having a field day with this rumour. I'll believe it when I hear Schefter saying the two teams are actually speaking.
Let's be realistic here. We know Oakland has lots of holes and are in real need of players/draft picks. Don't you guys think that if we really offered Lito/2nd/4th for Aso that Al wouldn't take it? Even if we offered a conditional 2011 pick in that as well, we'd still have our 1st rounder this year.
In addition... Jets officials are expected to meet with the agent for Thomas Jones at the Scouting Combine. Talks between the sides have been ongoing, but some urgency must be felt with Jones' $2.8 million roster bonus due March 9th. It's still believed that the team's decision on Jones' future is mostly tied to Leon Washington's health. Source: Rotoworld.com If we feel Leon will be 100% or darn close, we could toss in Jones too. He would help that offense and take away the attention from JaMarcus. (If he starts, which I feel he will)
Someone on here should write an article on there and make up a bunch of shit. Tom Brady for JaMarcus Russell trade sounds like a good BS rumor.
How about this for the trade. Jets send their 1st round pick, Kerry Rhodes, Clowney, and the Jets recieve Aso and Oaklands 2nd and 5th. Does anyone know how the value scale on this would work?
Just the picks? Since Oakland's 2nd is only a few picks behind our 1st I don't think a 5th covers that. On the player side Rhodes isn't even close to Nnamdi in talent or production (Clowney isn't worth anything). I don't see that working out, though it is Al Davis who makes the decisions in Oakland so who knows.
