Feely to become free agent. Per Schefter Twitter "Filed to ESPN: With K Jay Feely scheduled to become a free agent, the N.Y. Jets signed former Cowboys K Nick Folk to a one-year contract."
Feely had a great year and the same cannot be said about Folk. This move makes little sense. Maybe Feely was talking too much.
Damn, I wanted to keep Jay. How does this work? I thought we couldnt sign any free agents until one of ours was signed? No one signed Feely.
That's a huge downgrade. I hope they just use this as leverage and sign Feeley for another couple years.
Probably some manuvering done so that we can sign an FA by letting Feely go. Really the only reason I see why they would do this.

Folk was a probowler (despite having one bad season)...and has a big leg. But man, Feely was money in the bank last year....
It's obvious now that the front office and the coaching staff couldn't work things out with Jay Feely. I'm sure that if they wanted him on this team, he'd be a Jet. ...maybe he was asking for too much money?
I get that they want to get a FA that is worth something by letting Feely go. But having a reliable kicker is beyond important. Folk has lost his touch. This is stupid and dangerous.
I'm not really sure what Feely did wrong? He seemed to have good chemistry with the team and was a pretty reliable kicker. He did break the franchise record for consecutive field goals made this year.
Well wait just a min, he was def money in the bank, but I dont care what goes on during the year, you cant miss 2 FGs in the AFC Championship. PERIOD.
