Hey dummies that own our NFL teams, did you see how many people attended the NBA all star game on Sunday and that big ass smile on Jerry's face. And that's just the beginning for him, Super Bowl next year and probably NCAA and concerts in the winter. Meanwhile, your big event outside of the 20 NFL games a year will be a concert in May and the occasional Bruce shows. Nice business decision ass wiipes. What's next, take our PSL money and buy Xanadu

I want people like Peyton Manning and Phillip Rivers to have to come here and play in the cold and elements if we can have a good season and be at home in the playoffs. It's worked numerous times for teams like Green Bay, Buffalo and New England when they were good and got to be at home in the playoffs.

I love basketball but fuck the NBA All-Star Game and the Final Four, I'm more interested in the Jets kicking ass in their new stadium. I was at the 41-0 thrashing of Peyton and Indy in 2002, that doesn't happen in a living room.

I was all for the WSS and It was mostly due to what it could do for NY including a SB.

I am 100% for having no roof and playing in the elements but if having a roof meant SB and all the other events that would have come to NY because of the JJCC being expanded then I was all for that also.

We could have easily left the roof open for Football on the WSS.
    But you know what?
Fuk these bitches. They said a Roof was too expensive and are now crying ..waaaaahh we want to host a ...wahhhh SB waaaahhh....

Now, I hope the NFL shoots that shit down...The politicians drove the JETS out of NY and they also have now kept them out along with the stadium and both times it was for politcal positioning.

NYC/NJ is a fukin fraud when it comes to politicians.
Seeing all this shit on the NEWS where everyone is lining their pockets and making decisions just to get a few more votes and not based on what's best for their State.

Fuk the Politicians, Fuk the Stadium owners!
    Heppy Presidents day!

OP is right, no roof was a stupid idea. it would be nice to have those events around here, esp. nba all star weekend. that thing is the shitshow of all celeb shitshows. the events are crazy, and the behavior at them is even crazier

No roof was such a stupid idea. Anyone who says football is better played in the elements and all that jazz, I agree with you, but some games it's torturous to be outside, and that's usually late December-January. You think the NFL will risk having a day like the Bengals game outside for the Super Bowl? Hahahaha. Never.

Granted, while it would be nice to have a local Super Bowl, New York/New Jersey doesn't really need the extra people.

How about the Broncos game in '08?

A roof would have been cool if they only used it for real shit weather, but I doubt they would have ever kept it open once it got cold.

    That's the Catch-22.

But if we were playing the Colts in the playoffs, I want that roof wide open, rain, sleet, snow, hail, I don't care. I want the best weather for my team on a particular day, and if that can slow down Manning and co, I'd love it. Of course, they'd probably close it if it were under 40 degrees.

this is one of the main reasons i love the idea of the roof. being able to open and close it to our advantage (like giving shit weather to warm/indoor condintioned teams) would be so awesome. one thing though, does the league have rules about using the roof to your advantage?

its retarded to have a basketball game in a stadium that big. all the morons end up doing is watching on the big screen.

jerry jones will have fucked himself in 5 years when nobody wants to go there because you cant see anything but the tv in the middle of the field. its all new and cool now but i will almost guarantee within the next 5 to 10 years it will be looked at as an albatross.

yea, theres a certain amount of time before game time in which you have to decide ... but its more than enough time to still be able to use it as an advantage

You think the Jets PSLs are bad? Look at the Cowboys..

The most expensive club seats will cost season-ticket holders $340 per seat per game on top of a 30-year, $50,000 PSL contract, which ?apparently is the most expensive such option ever charged for the rights to a single seat.? PSLs for club seats will range from $16,000 up to $50,000.

yes there are rules that the nfl has with retractable roof teams. the nfl says whether the roof will be open or closed. therefore eliminating any homefield advantage as they will only let it be open if there is no chance of rain and it isnt too hot or cold.

what jerry jones is doing is amazing, it will end up being an issue in a few years when the newness wears off the place and people realize that they cant make any money reselling their psl.

cowboys fans are worse off as they are retarded rednecks from texas and didnt have the 1500 page thread the jets did. its also nice to have seen other teams fuck their fans before they ask you to bend over, advantage jets fans.

this whole psl thing is just another way that the nfl itself will ruin itself.

There was a discussion about this at my job yesterday.

Put a retractable roof on the thing. On game day open it up but cover the fans (HOW AWESOME WOULD THAT BE ON ***** DAYS!). And in the offseason close it and use it. PSL? Maybe not with that revenue coming in. Idiots.

I believe that douche Sheldon Silver was the main culprit of killing the WSS. The Dolans and their money grubbing ways didn't help either. Mike Bloomberg was all for it with his pursuit of the Summer Olympics.

Anyhow, I was for the WSS at the time but have since changed my stance. I have way too much fun at the tailgate parties that would be non-existant at a stadium in Manhattan.

I am also a fan of the elements but realize I am in the minority. A roof would be for the comfort of the fans only.

The new Meadowlands Stadium era is upon us and I am waiting for the first season in it to pass judgement.

First off, people are bitching about PSLs. Then on top of that, we want a retractable roof. Can we be a little more realistic? I don't own a PSL and probably won't since Im not from NY but if we want a retractable roof, be prepared to pay for it. The stadium is NEVER paid for by the owner. It eventually comes out of OUR pockets. The stadium investment is ALWAYS recouped in the long run.
