This is assuming no trades because trades make my head spin a bit

With the 29th pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, the New York Jets select
    Kyle Wilson, Cornerback Boise State

Some posters on the board seem to generalize the poor coverage by our corners, not only in the colts game but for the whole year. However, this is somewhat vague. What really killed us during the colts game were double moves by receivers, where they would cut or step one way and then blow by the defender (on a side note, for all the lowery rashers had they done their research when he was picked the two biggest concerns with lowery was some hip stiffness and recovery speed) Now moving back to Wilson, Wilson is the typical cover corner, really he is inheriting a really easy position: To be Darrelle Revis's side kick. I love his recovery speed and love his coverage in general. He is not being asked to be a shutdown corner, just someone who can hold his own more so than most of our other corners.

    2nd Round
    Lamarr Houston, DT/DE Texas
    [IMG]
I had so many options with this pick, but I ultimately decided on Houston. What scares me about him is his injury history. But what is nice about Houston is his versatility, he has experience playing both DE and DT. In addition he has nice feet and good hand work. Houston has been quietly moving up draft boards. I think he could be a good fit in Green and White

    5th Round
    Ciron Black, OT, LSU
    [IMG]
Besides being an LSU fan I do believe that Black would be a good value. I will say upfront that Black's play last season was not worthy of a starting left tackle in the NFL, let alone in college. BUT, this was by far one of the worst LSU offensive line's in recent history (if you want someone to look into next year former RT, now LT Joseph Barksdale is going to be a first round pick). When Black has had a better line around him his play has been better, and you may have heard the Jets line is pretty good. As far as style of play, Black is better in the running game than passing game, and his 330 lbs looks like he could play guard at the next level.

    6th round
    Myron Rolle, Safety, Florida State
    [IMG]
I'm not as high on Rolle as others are. My concerns are not as much with his skill set as they are with the circumstances he enters the draft. He put his education significantly a head of football, and he hasnt played in a year. I think his workouts will be huge, maybe he could bump himself up another couple of rounds. On the fiend I think he has good diagnostic skills but he doesn't really have the centerfield qualities you would expect in a safety.

    7th round
    Shay Hodge WR, Ole Miss
    [IMG]
We need a Wr, Hodge was pretty productive despite having such mediocre quarterback play in 2009.

    That concludes my mock

I'd be satisfied with that draft.

But Black is going 1-2nd round. He'll be gone by the third.

I think Myron Rolle will be a higher pick once the combine rolls around and teams will have him on there boards... Im sayin 2nd to 3rd round definitely doesnt make it out the 4th

Not a fan of Black or Rolle really, but I guess they wouldn't kill us. Really like the first two picks...Houston is good.

I like everything about this mock except for Lamarr Houston. I know he's got the measurables to play in the 3-4, but I see him as a better fit in the 4-3.

With a solid combine, Myron Rolle could rise into the second round.

Yeah, it seems you are assuming Black as a tackle, but I really think the value in this pick is that he could be an above average RT, but he also could probably play guard which is why he is probably, if nothing else, a good value pick

Would love to see the board fall this way but unfortunately I see both Black and Rolle long gone before the Jets had a chance to grab them. They would be tremendous value picks in those slots...

Black's stock is falling like crazy. He was a first rounder at one point now he is probably going to go in the 3rd at the earliest. This is in part to his performance but also for the fact that LSU in general had a crappy line (remember no Herman Johnson this year) and Jordan Jefferson who frequently took sacks because he held the ball for too long. Back to Black, he is good against the run, most LSU backs recently have done fairly well. He lacks the athleticism to play Left tackle but since he is better in the running game he could be better as a guard in the event Moore or Faneca was dropped. Also having Faneca, one of the best LSU linemen of all time, mentoring Black would be great
