Thinking Aso would be a jet this coming season is crazy talk. The potential for Aso being a jet when he becomes a free agent in a year or 2 depending on what Oakland does with his big option, now thats a different story.
This statement was just an effort to avoid tampering charges. Asomugha will still probably be a jet...this is just to avoid any penalty. I'd say there's a 51% chance that we trade for him.

Yeah, I didn't realize that either... Only the raiders would do that. I guess he deserves more than a "franchise tag". They really are wasting their money though, because by the time they can establish another winning team asomugha will be way past his prime. They should get rid of him in order to rebuild faster with more resources.
If I was the Raiders I wouldn't be paying Asomugha as though he was a Pro Bowl QB because obviously he's not having that effect on their overall performance.
It PROBABLY wont happen. I never put it past Tanny to get a deal done, but right now if I had to bet on it, I would say it wont get done.
