shhhhhh That mock offseason is amazing, the Blount pick would be outstanding. I think Greene and Blount have similar running styles but man that combo would PUNISH defenses. 40-50 runs a game eventually they're gonna break a couple huge ones.
I have to agree with the above two statements, throw in the fact that Cody will likely be a huge bust -- trusting Jenkins to teach him how to be NT is one thing, but being his dietician? No. I like the idea of trading back to build picks in what is a very deep draft, and I agree with your positions of need for the most part, butt here is no way the Jets completely ignore defensive end and pass rushing outside linebacker in this draft. Also, love the Blount pick. That kid has the attitude we need, "punch you in the face if you talk trash to me" attitude. Love it. Also like that speedy wide receiver from Bowling Green. If we can get either of them we're in good shape in the skill position department.
I have laughed for the past 20 minutes because im still trying to figure out what the hell tanknyc is trying to say.
I love the blount pick, he will be one of the steals of the draft because of a really poor decision he made making his stock drop.
Why not? Jenkins may have once been really fat, but he's one of the most solid 350 pounders I've ever seen: Jenkins would be a great mentor for a young NT IMO...One of the reasons the Jets are moving up so fast in the league is because they found high character, high end athletes and brought them in...it builds the foundation for future continuity because then the players act as coaches as they get older.
Well he's a solid 350 for sure, but is that him or is it the NY Jets weight training and nutrition program? I do think Cody could be disruptive in the middle of a 3-4 scheme but I don't like his attitude and his lax approach to the senior bowl. He reportedly gained 20 lbs in ten days. Think about how much you would need to eat and not work out to accomplish that. More than Rex's 7,000 daily caloric intake for sure. Yeesh. I also think we have more pressing needs than depth at NT with Pouha serving fantastically in Jenkin's absence. Pass rushing off the edge is, in my opinion, tied for our number one need with a man-cover guy to play opposite Revis and youth at RT and LG.
So . . . draft recommendations from someone who just called Freddie Barnes, whose only knock is speed, Yeah. I appreciate the input, but with Cody and Pouha around Jenkins will get significantly more reps at defensive end. The draft further addresses this with the Anthony Montgomery pickup. As for outside linebackers, our problem was getting pressure without insane blitzing packages and our blitzes doing nothing when they were picked up. In short, our pass rushers couldn't pass rush. Pace only has an outside speed move - which is fine, provided the pocket is being collapsed by the nose tackle - and Cactus is always in coverage. Do we need an upgrade at outside linebacker? Sure, but there most likely won't be a premier edge rusher available for the Jets in the first round or otherwise. Find me this great edge rusher you speak of and I'll replace the Cody pick with him. Graham? Think Calvin Pace with less speed and a bigger repertoire of moves to compensate. Kindle? Big bust potential. Sapp? Hughes? None of these guys are "big time" pass rushers, so why blow a high pick for the possibility of a minor upgrade? And where the hell is this insistence that Cody will bust coming from, anyway? I haven't read anything or heard any talk about it aside from two or three posters on this forum.
I love the mock, but Kyle Wilson looks like he's on a huge rise. Perhaps use that early 2nd rounder to take wilson over cody. Anyways, good mock.
Come on you all literally never heard the expression Sloppy Fat and Solid Fat? You can be fat but hold your weight well and be muscular as well opposed to being sloppy fat which is jiggly loose etc... I cant believe I have to explain this.. Google it you might learn something!!!!
...at least I'm not SLOPPY FATZ. C'mon tank - you're bashing a nose tackle for being fat. That's ridiculous.
He came in at 370, but overall he didn't look that bad. He had a really good game too. I hope he falls to the 2nd round. That's where Jenkins went too...maybe it's like a sign, man? Haloti Ngata had everyone calling him fat until he hit an NFL training program. He's going weigh 350+ in his late prime years and still be beast. Some guys are just big dudes...I think Rex would figure something to do with him. He and Boo Robinson are my favorite developmental NT prospects. Robinson reminds me of Ferguson. On Youtube those who haven't seen him see him pretty much getting owned by the BC OL, but they're definitely focusing on stopping him. He doesn't get beat by one guy either. That's pretty much how he is right now, but he will be a good NT in this league in a few years.
C'mon DWare - everyone in the football world knew Ngata was a ridiculous talent. NFL training had nothing to do with how freakishly athletic he was for such a big guy.
