Would Williams be any good working the middle or would we have Cotch working the middle with Williams near the sideline?

I'd rather bait Kerry Rhodes in a package for Brandon Marshall, and use this pick for defense.

What would you package it with? a bag of Doritos and a cowboy hat?

Whoever gets Marshall is going to give up it's first rounder and something more... plus why would you want Marshall AND Edwards? This isn't madden you know? We wouldn't be able to pay them both...

PS Our 1st + Rhodes + 6th rounder MIGHT get it done for Marshall... would you be willing to offer that much?

I'd be pretty pissed, and I'm a USC fan. When you only really need a slot receiver, you dont go WR is round 1.

I'm not opposed to trading the 1st rounder for Marshall because it's so low. We can pay them both in an uncapped year. We'd have Marshall, Edwards, and Cotchery. 3rd CB on Cotch would be a disaster for defenses, the only way to cover that ensemble is with a zone, which Sanchez is good enough to pick apart, or we'd dump off screens to Leon underneath. It would be unstoppable.

It doesn't exactly work like that... I mean sure we could for THAT single year but after that we'd have to let one of them go... plus I don't think it's a good idea to have 2 #1 WRs... I want someone to compliment the skillset we have, not duplicate it.

Plus remember we aren't exactly a pass first team. And not only because of the lack of WR but because of a rokie QB (albeit he played great in the last game) and mostly an OL that can't pass protect effectively.

From my point of view no way I want Edwards and Marshall on the team... if we get him it's because we give Denver Edwards... and atm I prefer to keep Edwards (not because he's better, 'cause he isn't) but because I think he fits here more.

I haven't posted in a while, so hi everyone.

I think when looking at our past drafts, the Jets don't sit pat with the pick they're given. Our front office has made it their goal to trade up to get the guy they really want (Revis, Sanchez, Greene... to name a few).

From the buzz I've heard, Tanny loves CB Kyle Wilson from Boise State. Banks (I normally like his drafts, but this one not so much) has him going to the Falcons at 19. I think if they love him that much, they'd move up for him. The Falcons secondary was regularly exploited this past year and so I think a move that would make sense could be:

Jets Rd1 + Kerry Rhodes for Falcons Rd1 and select Kyle Wilson. I think it's a move of less that 10 spots and I'm sure an NFL draft chart would show the value is there. This move provides another shutdown corner to our secondary, ditches our safety liability in Rhodes who would fit better in the Falcons scheme and provides us with a new fresh start. Eric Smith isn't the answer but there is always free agency.

Lets forget about a Brandon Marshall deal. They dealt the draft to get Edwards.

    Right on.

You Trade Rhodes to Cleveland for a three and Stuckey....And continue to develop Woodhead/Smith...

I really don't want Marshall anywhere near this team, he's a great talent but he is "Baby T.O."

I don't think the Jets will use their 1st rounder on a WR

I wish we still had Stuckey...he'd be great in the slot

Williams and Cotchery are very similar players, and I'm not for drafting a guy who would limit J-Co's role in the slightest. No player on that offense was as essential to Sanchez's success as the year wore on as Cotchery was in my opinion. Great route runner and even better hands.

A WR in the 5th round like Freddie Barnes (drool if he's there) or Blair White would be perfect.

I'd be upset if we passed on Dan Williams (and Mt. Cody) to draft a WR.
    This.
I don't like Marshall either. He has a worse attitude and I doubt he even comes close to having a career like TO.
