I haven't seen any other reports like this, so don't know how much this is the authors own take on things.

So he was frustrated after losing the AFC Championship. I don't see this being a big deal.

Its not the point, you dont throw you coaches under the bus. they didn't do the same when he dropped 3-4 Touchdowns throughout the season. Its a tough loss but be a fucking man and dont go bitching about it.

"Many key players that led to their playoff success are eligible for free agency this season, and a few will most likely find a new home in 2010."

That's bullsh*t. No important player is a FA and the few that are are RFA (excpet Feely but he wants to be back).

"The odds of Edwards of taking a one-year contract are not good, but if he realizes nobody else (not even the Raiders) will give him the money he's asking for, maybe he'll be able to swallow the deal."

That again is bullshit as he himself has stated that he is very happy at the opportunity of staying another year with the Jets and hopes to get a long contract after next year.

He has always had a positive attitude and Rex told in his last presser that Edwards came up to them (him and the team) and told them he was totally mis-understood and was stuuned at how the press turned around what he wanted to say (typical of the press in the off-season).

    Plus remember, it's BLEACHERREPORT.COM!!!
The guy who wrote this is probably some Browns fan who is still mad at how Edwards played while he was there... no one should care about what this looser says...

He didn't do it... Rex already addressed this... god the media is hungry for stories at this time of the year...

I don't condone what he said, I think it was probably just something he said in the heat of the moment. I'm not going to condemn him for saying something he shouldn't have after his season just went up in flames. It's not like this has been a pattern for him.

This was already discussed in another thread. He wasn't being a bitch. He wasn't complaining. He just stated fact. The SNY crew flipped out about it too, and they were off-base as well.

He's getting the first and third round tender. Rex even said so this week. That's after the comment was made by Edwards directly following the game.

The writer is just looking to stir up shit.

The guy is a Ravens fan... so he most likely knows about Edwards from his days with the Browns...

It has been reported that afterward, Edwards went to the CS and told them that he didn't mean for it to sound the way it did and the way it will be portrayed (e.g. this article). The CS knows this and it's expected that he receives a 1st and 3rd tender.

*edit: Sorry, Mambo9, didn't see you already provided that info. Good looks.

Is it just me, or did this article just blow what he said out of proportion. I didn't take any of the comments he made as disrespectful, and I've been one of his biggest critic all season long. Fuck the NY media. They're trying to turn him into a diva.

Unfortunately it's not hard for them to paint that perception because people don't like to think for themselves. I guarantee you fans will begin to hate on him after this crap article. It won't go away, and we'll see it on TGG.

The title is completely unfounded! How is his future in Limbo?? Oh, according to this dumbass writer its in Limbo, nothing the team has said backs that up.

Trying to make something out of nothing here......

Even if he did say this in this context then so what, 90% of us here have questions Shottys play calling at some point. Hes supposed to be different after the biggest loss in his career.

Obviously like everyone else, I've heard about the tender for Braylon, so when I read this it just didn't make any sense, which is why I posted it.
Players say all kind of stuff after huge games like this, but when they lose sometimes the train of thought can get mixed with emotion and taken out of context when printed, I see this now.

I agree. It was rough with Coles there towards the end. Remember Coles during the Chad departure? Then, the Coles and Favre drama? This is gonna be more annoying cause I think Edwards will be here for a long time if he has a strong year next year. He's a competitor. It's in his nature to think he can take over a game.

This isn't the 'media' reporting this. This is bleacherreport, random people posting random blog entries.

This stuff should be treated like fake news.

I heard Rex or someone from the front office say there will be a 100% chance BE returns for next season.
