Where Francesa lost me the last few weeks is in getting his facts wrong and being so arrogant that either he doesn't care or he won't admit it. 1) Rex did NOT say that Braylon Edwards was the best receiver in the game. He said he has the potential to be as good as any of the best ones out there. That is something EVERYONE knows. But Francesa has to twist the words and keep coming back to it. 2) Rex did NOT use the Jenkins/L.Washington injuries as an excuse in the press conference. He referred to them with regards to a question about needs for next year, saying that getting them back will improve the team a lot. He said he thinks he's already got a pretty good team and doesn't need to bring in a whole lot of players. 3) Shonn Greene- If anyone called to say that him getting hurt was kind of a big deal, he just cut them off and ranted it was an excuse. "He had 40 yards all day!" "He's not a move the chains guy. He's a quick strike kind of back." Did he even watch the first 2 playoff games? Could the first quarter and a half against the Chargers been much worse statistically? No one, including Francesa, knows what Greene might have done in the third quarter. But judging by the last two games, the Jet fans had more of a leg to stand on than Francesa. 4) He spent a lot of time on the Brett Farvre INT today. On the YES network they showed it over and over so he could "analyze" it for us. He says over and over that he could have easily gotten out of bounds at the 30. EASILY. The tape clearly shows a Saint's linebacker holding his ground at the 32 waiting for Farvre to make a move. I'm not a Farvre fan, but he was getting absolutely hammered all day, thought his ankle was broken 10 minutes earlier, and he would have had to run all out and take a big hit- probably closer to the 35. It would have been better than what he did, but saying he had an open field and a blocker and an easy run out of bounds is total BS. 5) Francesa purposely stirred up the pot by saying Rex called out the Giants. It was a pretty innocuous comment to begin with, but what did Francesa himself say in the last week of the regular season before the final game? The Jets look like a team on the way up with a very bright future and the Giants look like a team that needs MAJOR rebuilding. It only got worse for the Giants the next week and the Jets made it to the Championship game. So yeah, right now, they are the biggest show in town. It isn't exactly the Broadway Joe Jets versus the Ernie Koy Giants, but it could turn into that if both teams continue to play the way they did at the end of the season...
I feel like Francesa must say this shit just to get a rise out of Jets fans... No way does he actually believe some of the shit he says
I hope during the next PC/conference call somebody asks Rex about Francessa and he just goes off on him
