with the cba the way it is we're not gonna be able to sign any high dollar players.one guy to look at that may come cheap is quentin groves.jax is probably gonna cut him and i think he could still be something.bringing him in at a low price would be like an extra draft pick.rex could make him the 3-4 rush lb wee need.
Assuming good health w/ jenkins and leon we need: -depth on the OL. our LG and RT are getting old, we need insurance. -secondary help. Assuming Rhodes may be gone we need a S and we still need corner help. -We need some depth at WR -We need a pass rusher We don't have many holes, we can win w/ what we have as long as they remain healthy but we could use help in the areas I mentioned above.
Funny, weren't Groves and Gholston mentioned in alot of the same sentences during the draft frenzy not too long ago? What has been Groves' issue in Jacksonville? Haven't followed the guy at all.
I think Gholston gets his last shot after having a whole offseason under Rex. See what he has next season and if he sucks, he's gone.
yeah they were connected a little in that draft.the deal with groves is he's a little to light to put his hand down.del rio was gonna install some 3-4 but then scrapped it.groves just doesn't fit in to what they want to do.he was a knee jerk selection by the jags.took him right after brady sliced them up at a tune of 21-23 with 2 wr drops in the play-offs.not unlike what's happening here today.
He had a whole offseason under Rex last year. Sometimes it takes guys a few years to get it- maybe that is the case? probabyl not but you never know.
All your points are good. Pass rusher, upgrade a corner, slot receiver... My only exception is the O-Line. I think we need more depth but some people are claiming Faneca and Woody are getting too old (not specifically in this thread but others I have read). I'm too lazy to look it up but aren't they early 30's? (31, 32?). O-Line guys easily play till they are in their late 30's. Mawae is creeping up and 40 and he's still a healthy potent center - no Mangold, but still a starter on 1/2 of the NFL teams in the league. Depth yes, replacement no. Other than that great points. Oh, and PLEASE bring in a vet QB to b/u Sanchez in case he plays "army" again and goes fire in the hole on us...
