First of all, I am not going to talk any smack. I think you guys know me to be better than that. I have been sitting exactly where the Jets faithful are right now and it doesn?t feel good so I will not rub salt in any wounds. What I said was true and will always be true - after the game the only thing we will have left is the character that we want to be known for. The only issue I have with anything said on this board the entire week was that the Jets would run for 170+ on us. That really got to me and if I said anything to anyone that was out of line or hurtful then I apologize. From the bottom of my heart, I give you my absolute apology. It?s not as if there is anything I can say that would make anything feel better after a big loss. I know how I have felt in those spots, but everyone handles these things in a different way. We all have our own recipe for days like this. For all I know I will have to break out my recipe in two weeks. We will have our hands full in Miami. Mark Sanchez really impressed me. His toughness, his accuracy, and his leadership were bright spots for the Jets. I believe that Sanchez is the next star in this league. I know you guys and gals are really proud of him. Rex is a great guy and you have a great coach who will be around for years and years. The tandem of Rex and Sanchez could become a constant in the NFL for years to come. What a great season for the Jets! I know you guys and gals would have loved for it to keep going, but looking back on this I think you all will appreciate what your underdog team accomplished over the past month. You went into Cincinnati and stomped them and then you went into San Diego and pulled off one of the biggest upsets in playoff history. Judging from your fans and their fans, I wouldn?t have wanted it any other way for the Jet nation. I would like to stay around here and talk football with everyone. I might take some time off of here to let the wounds heal, because I don?t want anything I say to be construed as talking trash. But I would love to be a Colts fan who comes here and is looked at as a good fan of an opposing team. I would also love to be part of the draft season, if you will have me. I decided to drive home from the game tonight, instead of partying all night with the rest of the Colts fans. I took the time to reflect on just how much emotion and energy diehard fans put into their team. It really is a lot of stress we bring on ourselves to be part of a game. But in the end we all love this game so much that it is worth it. One day, I promise you, when the Jets win the Super Bowl it will all be worth it 10 fold. I read a story posted on here last night, from a great Jets fan. He told the story about how his dad felt sorry for passing down the Jets to him. He said he could have given him any other team, but instead he gave him the Jets. Well I want you to know that true loyalty has no losers. Hang your head high and be proud like I know you are. It will come and if my son, who I named Colt, has to go through years and years without the Colts winning the Super Bowl then even though I may feel bad, I know that he will look back on it as a bonding experience between us. Celebrate tonight! Celebrate what the future holds for the Jets nation and for what this team accomplished. You have absolutely no reason to hang your head low. Best regards, Freebo
Thanks freebo, good game, I still think we would have lost, but I wish Greene and Strickland didn't get injured so it would have at least been closer. Greene comes alive in 2nd halves. I think you will enjoy our draft talks in the off season, we have a lot of draft gurus and mock drafts here. I said this in another thread, but it is nice to hear Colts fans praising Sanchez, you guys watched Manning grow into the QB he is today and I hope Sanchez can one day be just as good.
Congrats to Colts! We lost the game because of our injuries and fking stupid officials call. I'm pretty sure we will run more than 100+ yrd if Greene didn't get hurt and win the game.
Thanks for the words of encouragement Freebo. Peyton is ridiculously awesome. Best of luck in the Super Bowl!
You've been spewing the same crap in multiple threads- stop breathing for at least a 2-count and see what happens...
Manning didn't beat us, it's the injuries that we got killed us. What If Manning got rib injuries? You think he will beat us? I don't think so.
Did you watch the game? Seriously? Manning completely picked apart our secondary. His 3rd and 4th receivers had the best overall performance of the day. Our 2nd and 3rd CB's are no more than nickel and dime quality, respectively. Manning whipped the Jets- be a man and accept it, rather than crying about injuries.
dude You know how you know when you are wrong? Your fellow Jets fans are telling you. Freebo I echo almost everything you said and enjoyed my time here this week. You guys are awesome and have much to look forward to since you clearly have found your franchise qb. And THAT my friends is HALF the battle. Kudos the to Jets fans in the Luke today... classy bunch. Rex was out pregame throwing passes to who I suppose was his son. I thought that was cool as hell and showed how loose he was. If you can't share this stuff with your kids what good is it.
Like they said, A win is a win! But I truly believe that when Greene went down, the game was pretty much over because Thomas Jones can't run for shit. See you guys again in the Playoffs next year!
Is it too late to award the Best Non-Jets-Fan Poster ? Because Freebo has been classy and objective in every sense of both words. Jets007 -- you need to check yer bias and realize that the best D in the NFL just got dissected by one of the best (if not THE best) QB to ever play this game. I've respected Manning before, but goddamn I SAID GODDAMN, that guy is brilliant. I've been telling people throughout the night: I feel privileged to watch a player like Peyton because, years from now, I'll be able to say I saw him play in his finest moments.
You seem to think rushing more was the key to you winning. The way Indy's offense was the second half you would not have kept up just pounding it. We gave up 250 yards rushing and lost TOP 45 minutes to 15 to Miami and still won due to being able to score so quickly. You are coming off as a sore loser... so many of your fellow fans are great football fans. Join them. There is no shame in losing to a team that won EVERY game they tried to win so far this year that is lead by perhaps the best QB to play the position.
I don't know if it was just a coincidence and Manning figured out our defense as soon as Strickland went out. or that was the reason. But ever since he was injured our D just wasn't the same.
I'm not disrespecting him or the colts. I'm just saying we lost because of the injuries, bad calls and missed FG. shit happens so can't blame. Our defense will get better next year !
Who's been alot worse in the playoffs against top competition and wasn't that good in his only Super Bowl. I'll give PM credit, but with a healthy Greene and Leon Wash, I think we can beat you IN Indy. It's funny: the same people who insist that the Colts were winning when Peyton and the starters played back in December want to ignore that the Jets were winning when Greene was in the game today. I find that interesting.
Remember Donald was a Colt. Peyton went against him daily for years (those rare times he was healthy) I doubt he was as big a factor as your pass rush just not getting home in the second half. Give any great qb time he's gonna make it happen.
