Yeah it has a few players on the jets that got traded.

Not sure how that works, compensatory draft picks or something right ?

LOL. It's actually two of these things, though. They've got Abram Elam on there too.

Well, that would be Leon's fault, he shouldn't listen to an agent only out for more money for himself over what's best for the player.

Compensatory picks if we lost more than we gained this year in FA. I doubt we're going to see any of that, though.

I think he's been pretty bad. He's had a couple of bad snaps this season

You think there will be a better long snapper available after cuts? That's the only reason to cut Dearth, since we sure as hell aren't drafting a new long snapper, nor are we signing an RFA to do the job.

Where the fuck did you get this list?

Elam and Trusnik are already on another team, and DeVito got a 3 year extension this season.
Aside from that, here's my predictions
Leon might get an RFA offer sheet that turns out to be worth more than picks than the player for the Jets.

    E. Smith, Feely, B. Smith will get new genuine extensions. Richardson could retire but will get a one year deal to stick around

    Everyone else is sent packing.

As much as I like Tony Richardson, it really makes you think is it worth it for the Jets to resign him?

With so many FAs out there do you really want to resign a guy who is almost 39 years old.

Especially with an uncapped year coming up

And that list was from http://www.kffl.com/static/nfl/features/freeagents/fa.php?option=By+Team&y=2010

as you can tell they seem to include guys that are no longer with the team, but its still pretty accurate

Unless the CBA is renegotiated, we're not going to be able to sign a free agent unless we lose one, and we have cannot sign him for more than the highest paid FA we lost. Richardson is still playing at a high level, knows the offense, and he's not going to command too much money. Keeping Richardson around would be a solid signing.

Yes, it is accurate if you ignore the stupid fucking mistakes they made in compiling it. Why would you post something you knew to be inaccurate? At least edit out the omissions.

Missing Braylon Edwards from this list as a RFA, He will receive the min. offer to make sure we get a 1st and 3rd if someone were to try and sign him.

FYP. Edwards will likely get an extension. I doubt the Jets let him sign an offer sheet. They will be able to leverage a better contract out of him and his agent than they would get from another team that gives him an offer.

I know but if we lost Richardson (as he is a free agent) wouldnt it allow us to sign someone new ?

And I mean Tony Richardson gets around 1mill a year.

for that kind of money we could get Chris Carr, Dre Bly, Samari Rolle, Leon Hall, Antonio Cromartie.

    Not exactly crappy players

...is under contract with the Raiders for $14.25 million dollars with a club option for the season after. How is it that half the board is ignorant enough to not look this information up?

Richardson's contract was worth the veteran minimum of about $850k. He's played the same this year as last year, and now he is a year older which is a disadvantage to him in contract negotiations. He won't earn much more than the veteran's minimum if he decides to play next season, regardless of who signs him.

We could not sign any one of the above players except Bly(washed up) or Carr(Return man with Drew Coleman's coverage skills).

We might think about it considering we don't have the option of signing most or those players because of the uncapped year coming up. Basically, final 4 teams can't sign FA unless they were cut or were on our roster this year.

Well if you look at the list of defensive ends who made under 1million theres some great names on there as well. (im too lazy to check who is a free agent or not)

But guys like Justin Tuck, Suggs, Orakpo, Ngata, Ray Edwards, Will Smith, Gaines adams all make comparable salaries to Richardson.

    http://content.usatoday.com/sports/...byposition.aspx?pos=148&order=BaseSalary+desc

I think the jets could definitely get their moneys worth.

Although I honestly have no clue how bonuses work into the free agent signing equation.

I seriously doubt any one of those guys is interested in playing for 1 million dollars a year... hell FB is probably the only position you can pay one of the best in the bussiness only one million dollars a year. and fuck I think T-rich makes at least 1.5.

Bly is probably getting 3.5+ this year, Leon Hall will be asking for a big pay raise from the 18th overall selection from his rookie deal Samari Rolle will be 34 when the season starts if he comes back and Carr is on a 2 yr 5 million dollar deal with baltimore aka 2.5 million next season. IDK where you got you numbers from on these guys but your just not going to bring them in at 1 mill a season and T-rich deserves to stay the man is a warrior and is integral to our ground game, without him we need a big time full back which i just dont see as a possible addition this offseason
