I am very happy with Sanchez as the QB of the future for the Jets, but its known by all QB's do better by sitting on the sidelines first year learning. Favre has been solid all year and I think the Jets could of been a lock for the division and lock for the Superbowl if we had him.
He didn't want to be here, and if the Jets hadn't released him he would have either retired, or made life unbearable for the team until he was.
you're that guy...so please stop coming up with stupid threads. Id sign up for a franchise qb instead of a 41 yr old guy who really didnt want to be here
Fuck that...this season was a hell of a ride and hopefully sanchez becomes a better quarterback from the ups n downs he experienced this season
I am saying if we had both. Resigned Favre knowing his future is short and let Sanchez ride the bench with a clip board learning and preparing for the future.
We may be a little better this year, probably not much. But would you sacrifice one good season for potentially 10 great ones with Sanchez? Our future would have taken a hit.
For the long term we are much better off with Sanchez. For this year we would have been better off with Favre and one of the USC linebackers. Our FO probably would have used our first rounder on Shonne Greene if we didn't trade up though.
then our running game would be non existant...because we dont coach favre, favre coaches himself and does what he wants. That does not fly with this coach
i feel like favre and ryan would have goten along. Favre is a douche but he loves to play and Rex would love that. I dont know if it would have helped today though, sanchez played great.
If we had Favre we still probably lose, and half of us would have just jumped off a bridge, brought a toaster into the bath tub or over dosed on pain killers, because this off season would be a hell of a lot longer.
I'm sorry but I'm glad we have a YOUNG, franchise quarterback who looks like he has the potential to be a future pro-bowl/all-pro type of player. Favre may have given us a better chance to win a superbowl this year but we got the AFC Championship game and broke in our rookie quarterback at the same time. I feel very god about where we are as a team and if we had brought Favre back for another season, we would very likely have not traded up for Sanchez. Thanks but no thanks. Edit: I didn't realize you meant that we could have brought Favre back and still traded up for Sanchez. The thing is though, I think it would have been very unlikely that the Jets would have actually traded up (i.e. traded away potential building blocks) to take a franchise QB with Favre coming back for another year. Maybe we would have and I'm wrong assume otherwise. Either way, I'm very happy with where we are right now.
I'll take the playoff experience for Sanchez any day of the week. No way Favre would have won a SB here, we all saw what happened last year
You guys are putting words in my mouth, I am not saying Sanchez did a horrible job he did amazing especially for a rookie. I am just saying we were 9-7 and I wonder what that would of been with Favre and wonder if Sanchez would of been that much better by learning from him and observing.
