Lowery. Trade Lowery out. He might be worth mid round selection to some of the teams lacking and looking to build.
Trade down? Stop thinking that. This team needs depth. Depth in the secondary, d-line, linebackers. We take a pass rusher first. Deal with everything else after that.
What we would get for Lowery in a trade would not match what he gives to us, he is a real good #3, and solid 2 when not facing a HOFer.
It's gotta be BPA between an OT, CB, safety, or WR. I know our secondary got torched, but our offense also stunk in the 2nd half today. If the offense takes up more time and scores more, our defense can play with more rest.
Tanny tends to target his players and does what is needed to get them. He doesn't like to trade down. If anything, we'd be picking 29th. We may even move up to the low 20s or high teens if he feels his player might not be there. I wouldn't mind that. So far his trade ups have been money. With the uncapped year coming up, he may change the way he looks at the draft, knowing we won't be able to pick up a FA unless we lose one. We need help in the secondary, and DL. We also need some OL late in the draft maybe. First round and second round should be BPA out of CB and DL and another third (or 4th, cuz 3rd is gone) round DL. Ellis is done. Injuries through out the year and he'd be 33 next yr. He'd be a FA in 2011. If we resign him, it should only be for depth purposes. A blocking TE is a need. 3rd WR would be helpful. RBs seem good enough for the next yr.
Exactly. He is an ok 2nd CB, but an excellent 3rd CB. a 4th rounder player will not be as valuable as Lowery. Trade Lowery? Not happening with one bad game against a 'surefire' hall of famer.
If the powers from above decide that Thomas Jones tenure with the Jets is over. We will need to draft another RB this season unless they are comfortable with Woodhead or Chauncy Washington backing up Greene and Washington? I love what I saw from Greene at the end of this season and playoffs, but I do have a concern about his durability! There has been several occasions this season where he got banged up and was unable to play.
All of those guys will be available at #15 when your Giants are OTC. In all seriousness, if you actually think Jordan Shipley is a worthy of being a first round pick, then just leave this forum. Mel Kiper has us taking Golden Tate in his latest mock...
I would not mind Golden Tate, he fits in very well with our offense and can return punts for us, plus is very reliable on 3rd downs due to having his vice grip hands. If we draft Tate we won't have to spend a 1st-3rd round draft pick on a skill position for 5 years.
I should have said Shipley in the 2nd round..I'd consider him a 3rd rounder but we don't have one unless we get a compensatory pick What do u think of Damian Williams Mr. E? And would he fit as the 3rd WR? I can see Sanchez lobbying for him
I should have said trade Lowery for a mid first round pick, not mid round pick. Sorry for the confusion. With said mid first round pick, try to get another CB. If we can keep 29, WR will be available there, if not..there's always the next round. Who the fuck would you guys get rid of in the secondary?
I wouldn't mind Golden Tate either, but if I'd take Bowling Green's Freddie Barnes over any receiver that'll be available when we pick...and we'll be able to get him outside of the first. I'll be hoping and praying that Mike Iupati falls to us. Damian Williams is a Reggie Wayne clone. Williams is probably the most polished wideout in this draft. I highly doubt he'll be around when we're on the clock.
Our secondary isn't that bad..we just got beat by a hall of fame QB..I'm sorry but that happens. Our secondary did great against EVERY OTHER TEAM Unless Haden somehow and unexpectedly falls to our pick, we're not going to pick a CB in the 1st round IMO
Wait, what? Is this a serious post? Who is going to trade a first round pick for a backup cornerback? I'd like to see Drew Coleman and Lito Sheppard cut, Kerry Rhodes traded, and Dwight Lowery as our nickelback.
