Peyton and his WR were just making unbelievable plays today. Your coverage was there today. You guys have an absolutely bright future today, you just got beat by a hall of fame QB. Keep your chins up. Jets proved a lot of people wrong this year
At a time like this, I can't take any positives. I don't think I'll ever witness the Jets being in a SB, let alone win one. Thanks though. Many things to be proud of, surely.
Feely missing 2 makeable kicks didn't help either. The 52-yarder would have been nice, but I really expected him to make the 1st one, which went Scotty Norwood.
As I was growing up a Steelers fan they had won their 4th one when I was only a year old. Given all the times they came close as I was growing up...I too started to think I'd never see one. Then they won 2 in 3 years once they got the franchise QB. Sanchez did just fine today, in fact he played better than Big Ben did his rookie year. Get him a few weapons in the passing attack and you'll see what I am talking about.
Thanks SC96. I remember your Steelers losing in the AFCCG with a rookie QB only to win it all next year.
The Jets will only get better next year. will improve through the draft, get back Jenkins and Leon, and Sanchez will grow even more. In my opinion, the Jets should be favored to win the AFC east next year.
This is the comment I'm going to cling to. Big Ben won the SB in his 2nd season - I'll sign up for Sanchez following in those footsteps!!!
You can't help but be in awe of Manning. He's so smart, and so talented. If you leave any kind of opening, not only is he smart enough to know where to throw, he almost always threads the needle. The Colts are in trouble the day he retires. He is that whole team.
You could say that for any franchise QB throughout history. The only team I remember not falling apart when their star left was the niners but they also had Steve Young ready to take over.
Good Season, Peyton was too good for the Jets today. We needed to take that fumble in for a TD. I'm proud of this team. Good Job all around.
Thanks for the words of encouragement. It is just so hard to get this close to a Super Bowl and lose the opportunity.
ashamed?!! I'm pumped....can't wait till next season!! I didn't expect the Jets to be this good until at least year 2 or 3 under this regime. Let's fill some holes for depth...and have a great draft. Great season guys!! We'll be back next year with a vengence!
I am so proud of this team. I knew beating the Colts would be a really tough task, but they hung in there and fought. The injuries caught up to them a little bit, and Manning does what Manning always does stepping up big down the stretch. But, as I said, I beyond proud of this team and what they accomplished this year. Sure, the regular season was a rollercoaster ride, and they were horrible for a good portion of it. However, they grew up by leaps and bounds during this postseason. They showed fight and heart. Sanchez also stepped up his game and showed that he can be a winner in this league at the QB position. The future is bright with this team, and I am not ashamed of what happened today. The Jets gave me too much to be proud of this postseason to put my head down. The New York 'fuckin' Jets are here to stay, and I cannot wait till next season.
Jets will be tough for a few years that's for sure. But you got a few years at least of needing to beat the Colts to get to the big enchilada. Jabba
