I know there is an entire thread about Francesa's show and his treatment of the Jets. Instead of complaining about him or debating him, the best way for Jets fansto get back at him is to boycott his show and to let WFAN know why. Let's all send the WFAN programming director emails stating that we will no longer listen to the show. Here is the email I just sent. I suggest we flood WFAN with similar notes and stop listening. Let's make him irrelevant rather than whine about him. "I have listened to WFAN since its inception. I was also a regular listener to the Mike and the Mad Dog show since the late 1990's. I wanted to let you know that I will no longer listen to the Mike Francesa show and will instead listen to 1050 in the afternoons and on my drive home. I am a huge Jets fan and a season ticket holder for 30 years. Francesa's show the past few weeks has been a complete disgrace to your station and to the New York metro area. For the first time in a long long time, Jets have something to be excited about and are the biggest and only sports story in town. Not the Yankees. Not the Giants. Not anything baseball related. The Jets are the story and the Jets fan base is ecstatic. So what do I hear every afternoon? Ridiculous criticisms of the team, its players and its coach. Denigrating, bitter, and hateful comments about the team, its incredibly unexpected accomplishments, and its loyal fan base. I hear about "divine intervention" and unfounded comments about the Jets' opponents being "disrespected." In addition, I have not heard one Jets player or coach as a guest. No expert guests analyzing the biggest football games for this team and its fans in over a decade. All week long, when ANY other New York sports team would have been celebrated, this man turned his show into a personal vendetta against the Jets. That is a disgrace for the supposed number one host on the number one sports talk radio show in New York. On the other hand, 1050 has handled this week appropriately. They have celebrated the Jets, had Jets players as guests and hosts, and analyzed the game from BOTH sides. Not all the 1050 hosts are supporting the Jets or picking the Jets to win and some of them have correctly pointed out the Jets' weaknesses. But their coverage has been balanced and appropriate for a New York team playing in a championship game. Francesa's coverage has been nothing but biased, which is a complete embarrassment to him and your station. I will never listen to his show again. I know I am not alone. Hundreds of thousands of Jets fan are making the same switch. I have lost all respect for Mike Francesa and your station for permitting this to go on for weeks. You have lost a loyal listener. I think we should also add something about how many of his comments are completely baseless and erroneous. Many of his judgments not only hateful but just plain WRONG.

Good idea. I boycotted fatcessa years ago and once 1050 came along, there was no point in listening to his fat, pompous ass. I hate the spankees so there is really no reason. He is like rush limbaugh only he talks sports. They're both blowhards with no value.
With all due respect…I have had it. I had been a loyal Mike and the Mad Dog fan since its inception and when Mad Dog left…I rooted really hard for Mike to continue his success. Being a Yankee fan, I understood I was getting an honest assessment of my team along with a host who spent the proper time on my team. While understanding that Mike hasn’t liked the Jets since his friend left the team, I continued to listen to him because how could anyone argue with only brief successes the team achieved over the past decade. After the Colt game…while understanding Mikes message that the Jets would have lost the regular season game, I began to see what it feels like to be a Met fan. When someone would call up and say that the Jets had a 10% chance of winning, Mike would belittle the caller as a moron. It hit me then that this guy just hates the team. Ok, so as a listener I have the option to change the dial. I didn’t the first week or so. At some point it hit me that I was supporting a guy that gets pleasure out of ruining an experience that is both rare and special. What kind of fan would ever be able to admit that for the past three weeks, Mike has added to an already fantastic time to be a Jet fan...which is the role of the media...regardless who they pick to win. No, he has done everything in his power to destroy it. I realized that I was supporting…putting a few pennies in to the pocket of a man who was trying to ruin one of the three great moments in my Jet life. If Mike had come on the radio and stated everyday that the Jets would not win any of these games, I would be perfectly fine with that. Its his true hatred for the team that makes it impossible for me to listen to and will carry over to all the other sport seasons from here on. The biggest insult of all is listening to Mike lie to me that he doesn’t hate the Jets and that he is “calling it like he sees it”. For that, he is calling me stupid. Enough. While going back and forth to 1050, at least 1050 is enjoying the spirit of the run…regardless of who they pick to win. That was never the point.

Francessa is a fraud. Ever since his partner got paid to take himself off the airwaves and get away from the pompous ass, the fat guy is the new clown in town. Say whatever, as long as they'll listen. Nice to see his journalistic integrity is way thinner than himself. Glad that some people have turned the dial. I put him on for 10 minutes today, 10 minutes too much.
I've already been boycotting Fatcessa for about ten years. I havent missed anything good, have I? :jets:
