He has every right to feel what he wants, but can he tell the WHOLE story??? He keeps saying we couldn't move the ball against their run defense. Its a FANTASY. The fact is ... we actually ran the ball very well in the first half, as well as the 2nd half and this jackass keeps saying that we didn't. Just look at the play sheet ... its all there ... Greene for 4, Greene for 5, Jones for 10, Greene for 21, Jones for 4, etc ...
No, I agree with ya. His view that the Jets had a zero percent chance of winning that game and couldn't do anything vs. the starters is extremely unfair. He acts like the Colts are the greatest team of all time and the Jets a High School team because the Colts had a 14-0 record. And if someone calls in to say like the Jets had like a 30 percent chance to win, which mind you, is nothing to brag about, he gets insulted and repeats zero chance.
Translation: "I had homolove for Parcells" "Rex doesn't pay any attention to me, so I don't root for this team."
As the drive-time guy in NYC, he's supposed to know something about sports. He really sounds uninformed and ignorant at times. And just for the record ... in the last 30 years, teams that have returned a KO for a TD have won 52% of the time. Didn't we return one in that game? I'd say our chances were a little better than 0
lol, I listened to maybe two minutes today, near the beginning of the 4:00 hour and he was still going on about the missed FG's. My god, how long can he keep up this venom? I don't even hate Belichick as much as he hates the Jets and Jet fans. The reason he and Russo worked was because they could play good cop, bad cop at times (Russo hating on the Yankees while Francesa could be pro) but by himself it's just an angry old man filibustering for five hours. Used to be I'd always go to WFAN for coverage, and I still listen to a lot of Joe and Evan cause they're actual Jets fans but I'm looking more forward to the Jay Feely show on ESPN tomorrow than anything on WFAN all week and I had no idea that show even existed until I heard it last week.
"that has been Rex's ploy this season" about headlines and inflammatory comments Speaking of ploys, Mike, it's time to come clean about what you've been doing this week.
"The Colts are bein disrespected, everyone is picking against them this week" http://espn.go.com/nfl/picks Ex-Patriot Colt haters are all picking(more like rooting) for the Jets because they don't like the Colts.
Next time someone gets on WFAN -- with or without the SportsPope -- mention the following regarding his horse-racing pal: (1) He was almost replaced by Howard Schnellenberger after his 1st year going 3-12-1. (2) His Giant teams were all picked by George Young and Ray Perkins, including Phil Simms and Lawrence Taylor. (3) He's such a good judge of talent that he picked Scott Brunner over Phil Simms in 1983. (4) He wouldn't commit to picking Peyton Manning #1 in 1997 so Manning stayed in school. (5) Then he traded the #1 pick overall for less than it was worth and even James Farrior skipped town. (6) Flipper Anderson (7) Were lucky in 1986 that 'Skins beat the Bears or the Giants don't win the Super Bowl. (8) Lucky that 49'ers fumbled at 3 minute marke in Q4 or they don't win Super Bowl in 1991. (9) Lucky that Tyree caught the ball or Pats beat Giants. Let's face it...the Giants were lucky to win ALL of their Super Bowls. And Parcells never won a Super Bowl without Belichicken as his D-coord.
"(3)": Every coach/GM makes mistakes evaluating talent on draft day . . . Every single on of them. If happens. Not really a significant point there. "(4)" I've never heard this at all, and in fact, I remember reading that Parcells gladly would have taken Peyton but that Peyton was not interested in playing for New York but still wanted the money for being the top overall pick, so he stayed in school (he also loved it at Tenn and really wanted to beat florida for a change) "(5)" I don't think this is true. What are you basing this on? "(7)" I'm not sure how you can state this so matter of factly. The Giants were the number 1 seed that year. Thus, if the Bears had not gotten upset by the Redskins, that game would have been in Giants Stadium. The Giants and Bears were the two best teams in the NFC, so anything could have happened. "(8)" True "(9)" True but what does this have to do with Parcells?
lol everyone picked colts but 1 guy. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/notebook?page=sundaycountdown09 the countdown guys though all picked jets except 1. 3 of 4.
HAHA...That Manny's commercial is hilarious. I was there not too long ago. I think that place is a shell of its former self. As far as Fatcesa goes, why even listen to that ass clown? If I listened to that fucker, I would put my fist through my car radio. He is a friggin' joke. I actually would rather listen to Michael Kay. He is a good radio host. Just don't get me started on the way he broadcasts Yankee games.
I like how today he tried to say his picks don't matter. Yeah, uh huh, it doesn't matter if the guy who claims to have the #1 sports talk show in the biggest city is right about things. The Seton hall games 20 years ago were more important...f that, he doesn't need to be accurate at all. BTW Joey on 1050 has the worst voice. Anal retentive is what comes to mind. Everytime he sings I change back to WFAN. Why does this guy get any singing airtime, because he was in a failed 80's/90's alternative rock band? Awful. Also, Kay likes the sound of his voice too much, at least Franny takes a ton of calls. I wish they'd fire Kay and just let Don LaGreca have the show (and I'm a Yankee fan...)
