I know from experience, being a Jet addict can also lead down a dark path.

So you obviously werent an alcoholic. Alcoholics have a physical dependence, thats why they can't stop drinking. You just couldn't handle alcohol as a young kid, your parents found out and sent you away. Happens all the time.

Usually you can tell what a kids problem is by listening to his life story. Why do you think kids start drinking in the first place. Because they like the taste of beer. If that was the case they everyone would drink non-alcoholic beer all the time, right? No, they drink it so they can feel like they belong to the in crowd. Once you can get over the fact that you dont need to drink or do drugs to fit in, than and only than can you control your intake.

I never said i knw what alcoholism can do to a family, I was just saying as a 16 year old drinking at a couple parties in high school is not an alcoholic. The poster said he didn't have a physical depenedence which proves my point. Lawyered

great post man, nice story attached to it as well, really sums up how true Jet fans really feel

"I believe that the definition of a true fan is not materialistic. The emotional connection to this team is what defines a fan."

    couldn't agree more

yea alcoholism starts off as an emotional desease then it quickly develops into a physical dependence ...

Great post. Tho I never really barfed after a game because of a loss.

I do however get depressed for the rest of the week. Totally agree on the "dream" feeling. When we won last week, it didn't sink in at with me. I acted like is I was expecting us to win all along (even tho I was fucking shook the entire game). As this weekend draws near tho, I'm fucking excited to be in the AFCCG. We're gonna get it done. Why not us? Why not now? is what I hope the players are thinking when I think about Sunday. Go Jets!

People who have never been around this wouldn't understand. My younger brother fell into a similar problem when he was 16 and turned our family upside down for quite a few years. As for the OP, sunnygs97, hats off to you. If you can stay clean while following this team through some of these torturous years, thats a hell of an accomplishment!!!

I don't mean to be a dick but you obviously don't really know what you're talking about so if you have interest in understanding addiction I suggest you do some research.
