two 2nd round picks for a very low 1st round picks? NO way dude! We'd be lucky to get a mid-low 2nd and a mid-low 3rd. Our only hope is that someone REALLY likes the players left at the end of the first... crazier things have happened like Denver giving a future 1st to select Alphonso Smith in the middle of the second round... now with that pick Seattle may well select the second best CB in this draft! I'd be thrilled to do this: Give away our 1st and 7th round -> get a mid 2 and a low 3 trade out of OUR second -> get a mid 3rd and a 5th Use our newly acquired mid 5th and our 6th to move up to the 4th. This would mean we end up with: mid 2nd........... our future DE mid 3rd............ our future slot WR low 3rd........... our future RT somewhere in the 4th.... a strictly pass-rushing DE/OLB mid 5th... BPA I would actually trade that last 5th rounder to move a bit up in the 2nd round if guys like Iupati or Tate are there. As far as OLBs go I'm fine with Pace and Thomas starting nect season...
If you asked me about trading Jones last pre season I would have said yes, three weeks ago I would have said no, and now I'm indifferent but more towards no. Look Thomas Jones has been extremely productive and the man is asking for a contract extension I think both Jones and his agent knows that he is not going to get a long year deal (anything more than 3 years) so unless we get blown away I say we keep him he has been so good and I'm willing to take a little risk with him I have no clue about the future of Thomas or Rhodes, though lately both have stepped up their game
if only manKok were still around we could trade up to cleveland's spot with our 1st and kerry rhodes to get eric berry.
Isnt he? Make another package. Rhodes and Jones+ the 32nd pick = Eric Berry, McCoy or Haden as a Jet! That would be to good to be true. I know TJ is solid, but it is not hard imagining Green and/or LW getting 1500 yards per season behind this O-line. He is expendable.
At this point trading down with someone who wants to jump back in the first would benifit us the most
