"i don't think we would've won, but it would've been one * of a game ." Look at the chargers fan attitude. They dont think they can win. While we got Rex making Jet fans KNOW we should.
"I am not sure Jets fans realize how badly SD had a meltdown. It was pretty bad lol. It was kinda funny though." "Yeah I have to agree with you, and add that the Jets won the game but they didnt beat the Chargers. The Chargers beat themselves." I'm glad that our past 4 games that every team has laid down for us. I hope the trend continues. I mean the Jets never beat anyone. Every win this season has just been the other team beating themselves obviously. #1 Defense and Rushing attack has no effect on why teams are performing poorly against us.
I would never expect fans of that nature to accept the fact that they got beat. All the while we've posted how during the season the defense failed to come up big at the end of games and the opposing teams beat the Jets.
This is priceless and borderline idiocy. Did the Patriots not "melt down" and give the Colts that "win" against them with that 4th and 2 at my own 20 yard line call? Yeah, the fact that we have a defense that forces mistakes and causes offenses to get tight and out of a rhythm has nothing to do with the fact that teams get out of sync and tight against us.
Everyone who hasn't watched the Jets judges them by their mediocre 9-7 record. What they choose to ignore is that 5 of those game were lost by just a few points and most of them in the final seconds of the game. Point being - this could easily be an 11-5 team if a few more breaks had gone their way.
Truth is, even if we win against the Colts, we still won't be respected. Only a SB will get us respect. Nothing less.
I love all these clowns that think the only reason the Jets won is that Kaeding missed those FG's. As if everything would have played out EXACTLY the same if those FG's were made. douchebags The r'tard missed the FG's and the Jets played accordingly. If he had made them, they would have played differently.
I don't know if you're a baseball (Yankees) fan, but it's the one thing I actually agree with Michael Kay about. There is no predetermined outcome. Everything that happens is a result and a response to everything that preceded it. As you said, if Kaeding makes those kicks, the Jets play differently. Most significantly, they never play soft late in the game and allow SD to march down for a TD. The Chargers still lose, except by one more point.
Fans look at losses by their team in large measure to gauge what happens next. How likely is it the team rebounds by doing something differently, or what can be done differently to prevent another loss like that one? It is the basic view of fans, and that is understandable. The focus tends to be on what the team did wrong and how to fix it. The problem of course is that along with the dislike of the opponent who just beat your team, that this can easily translate into giving a less than objective assessment of the reasons for the loss. It's almost always like that. This is why it is pointless to expect most Charger fans to admit what really happened. Let's face it - it is hard to be objective about opponents. I think it is worth trying, though. For example as much as I dislike Bill Belichik, was outraged by the tuck game and by favorable zebras in the Rams game, and subsequently a general perception that the NFL treated them favorably, I also had to admit several of their players were flat out great players. The whining Charger fans have every right to focus on what their team did wrong. We would probably be doing the same thing if the Jets had lost that game. But it is also true that a view that only focuses on that is not balanced and objective.
I'll tell you something about Charger fans. I was out there last season when we played them on Monday night. I was out there with some business friends and we headed out to a bar in Santa Barbara to watch the game. I was the only Jets fan in the whole place. The Charger fans, in a word, were douchtastic. I mean complete assholes. After that, and seeing tweets from people who attended Sunday's game, and the arrest of the Jets fan in the stands, I can honestly say I have zero like for that team or its fanbase. I'm glad we beat them, and not just because I'm Jets fan.
This is horseshit. Both the Jets offensive and defense pounded SD for 60 minutes. The Chargers were weak, tired and mentally were out of the game. Did they beat themselves? Absolutely not. If SD was as good as everybody thought they were, their mental and physical toughness would have shown through. It did not, they lost and Gang Green lives on to see another game. Case Closed.
