Part of this I posted in another thread....

Revis played perhaps his worst game of the year against Indy. To who ever said Wayne didn't beat Revis, WRONG. He had Revis beaten deep and Manning over-threw him. I've seen Revis defend that sideline out pattern better than he did against Wayne in that game too.

That game was an "off" game for Revis. For any other CB, it would be a very good game. Not for Revis. To be honest, I think Revis was just a little bit afraid of Wayne/Manning. He played a little tight. On the other hand, I also think Manning was a little bit afraid of Revis too. When he threw to Wayne, he looked cautious. He htrew the ball so Revis would have no play on it, but he threw it so far out there, neither did Wayne.

I think Revis gets another pick this week. I think he plays his best game of the year. I almost hope that Manning connects with Wayne early for a 20 yarder... false sense of confidence. Then Revis can jump one of those sideline outs, and go house with it.

Rhodes just sucks. The first TD was on him last week. He can't cover a dime with a blanket. Clark will eat him alive unless he gets his head out of his ass. I hope he got a lot of shit for celebratin his sack while a live ball sat on the ground while he did his little dance routine. Contrast that with Leonard, getting a black eye going after the ball with no helmet on.

Collie and Garcon are little quick guys. Those are the kinds of guys that give the Jets fits, like Welker.

I think we have to play man, run the risk of giving up the big play, send the whole family, distant cousins, auntie May and little Joe after Manning. Go for the big play on D. 7, even 8 man blitzes. Jam Clark, and then delay blitz. If they go 4 wide, man up and blitz the rest. Jam the WR's at the line. Rape em. Play them tight. Don't let them get into their routes. Take a couple penalties if need be. Throw them off of what they do best.

Now, on offense I think we will beed the sort of game Sanchez played against the Cinci defense. 100 yards passing won't be enough. 175-1200, with a TD and at least one long gainer is what I think we'll need from Sanchez. Of course, I said that going into the SD game too.

As some others suggested, power running straight at them is the way to beat a speed defense, and we have the best power blocking O line in the NFL. I think the Colts will bite on play action after we run the ball down their throats a few times. I don't want to see bubble screens, end runs, reverses, etc, not against a smaller speed D like the Colts. Take out strength to their weakness. Run at their D ends. Run up the middle. Wear them down. Then pick a spot to try the deep pass.

    "Play like Jets".

    Good stuff Thunderbird.

At this point in the season, no offense is gonna sneak up on anyone. We know they gonna pass, they know we're gonna run.

I hope Rex has got some new packages to throw at Manning. He's so godd at making adjustments before the snap it's scary.
If we can't get to him and create some mayhem in the backfield and disrupt his timing, it's going to be over by the half.

It'd be nice to get some points off special teams and our defense.

Any team can win on any given Sunday - even those teams not "favored". Just ask the Chargers and the Bungles. The Colts defense is not as good as the Jets. The Jets offense is not as good as the Colts. That said Peyton will have to target someone other than Wayne and hopefully Lito, Strickland and Lowery can make some good plays. Better defenses have tried to shut down the Jets o-line and running game. Should be a good game.

    jetbo.......haha ha

i definitely think we need 2+ turnovers and a fake punt for a first down to have a chance.we need to be crafty on def and special teams but we need to stick to the plan on offense.

I believe the Colts will turn the ball over 3 Times this Sunday and Jets will get 14 points from those 3 turnovers! Colts lose the game because of their own turn overs.

Actually Bob Sanders came back from Injury and was a big reason why the defense turned it around.

He's out with a torn biceps but it happened early in the season and his replacement (Melvin Bullet) is a pretty good fill in.

If the Jets wanna win they force Indy to play Tim Jennings at CB and throw to the guy he is "covering" every single play. He is without question the worst db in the NFL.

He got benched last week I hope he stays there.

Something different about the 06 team is we do have 2 big DT's now... that philosophy sorta changed.

I have not seen anyone mention our new defensive coordinator Larry Coyer. He has brought different blitz packages to the fold and a few games were won due to a linebacker blitzing at the right time. Nothing amazing like your blitz packages and our defense is not as good as yours by any means but Freeney and Mathis would be the starting DE's on your team and they will cause some issues if you guys end up having to throw it more than recent.

It should be a good game and a close one I think. You guys HAVE to get 6 in the red zone teams settling for fg's usually cannot keep up with Indy in the second half.

I don't think the last game tells us anything useful to be honest both teams will have some new stuff in the playbook for this week.

I'll say this... as bad as our run game is... we ran a couple of stetch plays last week for the first time all year and when we run that well it really sells the playaction.

For any of you who think the Chargers have more receiving options... that is just false. Wayne is better than Jackson, Clark is better than Gates, and the combo of Garcon/Collie surpasses the #2,#3 receivers from SD.

I can give you a key time frame... the last 2 minutes of the first half and the first 2 of the second... we dominated teams during this window. If you guys can stop us from scoring during that timeframe it will really help your cause.

Good insights there. One could agrue Gates vs. Clark, but otherwise, agreed on the WR corps. I also agree.... the Jets need to have possession at the end of the first half. Keep the ball away from Maniing at all costs in the last 2 minutes. No need to score... just move the chains, burn clock.

I don't think play action will work for the Colts at all. The more Indy has an RB in the backfield, the better. It's the 4 wide that scares me.

Does anyone here think that in week 16, the colts opened up their playbook and played balls to the wall? We all know the jets did, because they had to. You will see a hungry, rested, and focused colts team come sunday. Mark my words.

Gee, awesome insight here. Much better than T Bruschi who you bashed in another thread. Calling him a stroke victim and all. Sure glad you brought your insightful football accumen to our forum.

Here I was thinking the Colts would be resting their starters for the Super Bowl.

I guarantee you, if Sanchez goes for 1200 yards in this game...we win big

I think it comes down to how the Jets handle Dallas Clark. Revis and Sheppard will take care of Wayne and Collie. But in thinking back to Welker's 15-catch game in the last NE/NY match-up, Clark is more or less their Welker.

I have no doubt in the Jets' ability to slow down Manning and the Indy offense. They'll put up some points, but I'd be shocked if this isn't close all the way to the end.
