75% of the world is covered in water, the rest is covered by Darrelle Revis.... This is great, put it on a t-shirt and I would buy it!
I know Revis can hold Wayne, its the rest of the field he will pick apart like the 1st half of the other game. That worries me.
i kind of expect revis to be moved around like last week. With a lot of weapons revis has to be moved around.
Revis played perhaps his worst game of the year against Indy. To who ever said Wayne didn't beat Revis, WRONG. He had Revis beaten deep and Manning over-threw him. I've seen Revis defend that sideline out pattern better than he did against Wayne in that game too. That game was an "off" game for Revis. For any other CB, it would be a very good game. Not for Revis. To be honest, I think Revis was just a little bit afraid of Wayne/Manning. He played a little tight. On the other hand, I also think Manning was a little bit afraid of Revis too. When he threw to Wayne, he looked cautious. He htrew the ball so Revis would have no play on it, but he threw it so far out there, neither did Wayne. I think Revis gets another pick this week. I think he plays his best game of the year. I almost hope that Manning connects with Wayne early for a 20 yarder... false sense of confidence. Then Revis can jump one of those sideline outs, and go house with it. Rhodes just sucks. The first TD was on him last week. He can't cover a dime with a blanket. Clark will eat him alive unless he gets his head out of his ass. I hope he got a lot of shit for celebratin his sack while a live ball sat on the ground while he did his little dance routine. Contrast that with Leonard, getting a black eye going after the ball with no helmet on. Collie and Garcon are little quick guys. Those are the kinds of guys that give the Jets fits, like Welker. I think we have to play man, run the risk of giving up the big play, send the whole family, distant cousins, auntie May and little Joe after Manning. Go for the big play on D. 7, even 8 man blitzes. Jam Clark, and then delay blitz. If they go 4 wide, man up and blitz the rest. Jam the WR's at the line. Rape em. Play them tight. Don't let them get into their routes. Take a couple penalties if need be. Throw them off of what they do best.
Collie and Garcon are listed at 6'0'' and 200 lbs. Not what I consider small. Manning just has the knack to find the open man. No matter who is out there recieving. Keep them in front of you, hit em hard or try and change the pattern via bumps at the line.
Compared to the Charger's WR's they are. 6'0 is smallish in today's NFL. I consider them small quick types. Welker-ish. Your second comment is what I said in my post too. Jam them, play them tight.
You're joking, right? Welker is much smaller than those two and his game is much different from theirs.
Wanye did give Revis problems and in the 1st game Peyton made a rare misfire in the redzone on a play Reggie beat Revis. But this time Revis is going to make 2 picks vs peyton
Revis will be what he is - Revis! The big thing will be Collie because he was all over the field last time for nearly 100 yards on 6 catches. I think they need to be a bit physical with Clark at the line and delay Manning's safety blanket from getting a free release into the second level of the defense. If they pressure Manning and Clark gets free releases he will have 12 catches in the game and that is not a good thing for us.
Yes, they are both 3 inches taller than Welker, but they are not protypically tall NFL WR's. Neither one of them has the speed to just burn DB's, they get open with good route running and quickness. In that regard, they are Welker-ish...to me that means having some of the same traits and skills, but far from being a direct comparison. They aren't guys that play like big WR's do, breaking tackles and out muscling DB's for the ball. I think Cotchery who is also 6 foot is a much more physcial reciever than either of them. You think Cotchery because of the height factor is more like them than a Welker type is? There is only one Welker. I'm not saying they are some kind of carbon copies. They are finnesse WR's. Smart. Good routes. Good hands. No blazing speed. Not big physical WR's. That was my point.
I've got a feeling Revis will get beat a few times, but hopefully not anything that will change the game. Nobody's perfect. I worry more about the other receivers and Clark eating us alive. Their running game is awful, nothing to worry about there except maybe a 1-2 yd td run that is set up by the passing game. Its all a guessing game. They are beatable, but the odds are not in our favor. They can overcome mistakes a little easier than we can because of their passing attack.
