Now THIS is a good post. So what I can tell you about Peyton against the 3-4 is that he almost always starts off slow and then he finishes strong. I believe this is because he has to identify what linebacker is doing what and it takes a while to put everything together and figure out the best way to counter it. Once he does, he will call the right play every time.
Not trying to give anyone homework or anything but I'd like to see his QBR vs the 4-3 and his QBR vs the 3-4.
Mannings QBR vs 3-4 is 99.6 approximately --- while his 4-3 is 109.4. its all sort of figuratively speaking -- because of some teams hybrid D's.
And Rex is the BEST at making in game defense adjustments. The last 10 games we have not given up more then 7 points in the second half. With that said, our LBs do everything, so Peyton wont be able to identify whos doing what because we'll be sending Bart Scott on one play and the very next play he'll be dropping back into coverage.
What I have notcied: vs. 3-4: Undefeated, vs. 4-3 Undefeated. The Guy wins. Jets gotta play there best to win it and I think they will.
With all the weapons Peyton has, the best pass blocking line in football and his nack for a quick release, it won't whom the Jets send, they won't be able to cover everybody...
Correct NYJ2K10, Jets need to bring their "A" game.... Stats are entertaining, but you can throw out the rankings once the game starts... I think most Jets fans are underestimating the Colts Defense...
The difference is we are better then the Chargers overall. Yes their WR are taller, doens't make them better. In 2 quarters alone Reggie Wayne posted almost equal to if not better numbers against your boy Revis then any other WR did for an entire game. How many sacks did your D have on Peyton in the first meeting?
Look at the points Jet fan is posting on what they think the Jets will Score. The Chargers D isn't as good as the Colts and yet the Jets struggled just to get 17. Your "O" will be lucky to put up 14.
How so ? As far as im concerned the chargers are better than indy almost all around. Better Corners, better safetys, better linebackers, better halfbacks, slightly worrse wrs/te, better special teams. The only positions indy is better than the chargers at is QB and defensive end. And probably indys oline is a bit better too SDs linebackers are exponentially better than indys, and LBs are instrumental in the rush defense.
Most people are predicting between 20 and 24 points for the Jets. The Jets averaged 21.8 points per game while the Colts gave up 19.2 points. I think to get into the 20's, the Jets will need a Defensive or ST TD or at least have a few short fields throughout the game. Remember, the Jets don't want to get into shoot-outs.
How exactly are SD linebackers better? How well did the Chargers do at stopping the Jets running game? Then how well did the Colts do at stopping the Ravens running, or for that matter shutting down the Jets running game in the first half of our previous meeting. Please explain how you came to your conclusion that the Chargers (whose overall D was rated below the Colts I believe) is better? In fact, I don't see any aspect of the Chargers team that rates better then the Colts outside of maybe their Kicker, and well he performed so well yesterday....
The chargers rush defense, pass defense, and total yards per game were ALL ranked above indys. Indy allowed slightly less points per game. Theres NO WAY that Bracket Wheeler and Session are better than Phillips, Cooper, and Merriman.
And cornerbacks, seriously you think indys are better ? Indy has a rookie, and a guy who has played one full season as their cornerbacks. You think theyre better than san diegos solid jammer, and pro-bowler Cromartie? Cmon now you cant seriously think so
Again.. Merriman? Is he even still playing? Talk about a 1 year wonder. As for the rest, if they are so "dominating" then how in the world did the Jets run all over them? I mean you really need to look at the numbers a little closer, and relize that right now at this point the Chargers couldn't get the job done and well the Colts did.
Lets see, if our D is so bad, then when all of them played, how did they win those 14 games in a row? Yes our guys are rookies, but talent is age or experienced based all the time. If age adn experience determined ability, you guys would be screwed at QB.
