Ive noticed that we are a very strong 2nd half team and if we keep pounding the ball by time the 4 quarter comes we tire the defense out plus it keeps them on the field
Gadget plays like double reverses are not going to work against a fast defense like them. They will sniff that shit out in a heartbeat. They are a smaller undersized fast D. The Jets have the best O-line in the business atm. Run right at Freeney and Mathis smash them in the mouth. They are not soft like the Chargers but make sure they want to tackle and wear them out. I do not think they rotate all that much (Freeney and Mathis). The Jets can not afford to have them spry in the later 3rd and 4th quarters. Oh and no more of that stupid "protection package" that lets Freeney get a free shot at Sanchez.Man that was fucking stupid.............. before a dolt says anything that was not on Brick.
Yeah I figure a play like that really isn't ideal, but after seeing the play against the Chargers, one of those wouldn't hurt especially if the O-line runs to the wrong side, the defense will follow and may allow a huge run and that will keep the defense tight, its worth a shot, they only did it once against the Chargers, it didn't work, but it sure kept them tight.
Take the Wildcat/Seminole/Razorback/Whatever College you call it out the game plan LOL those plays worked by surprise but now that people prepare for them this is the reason why it never worked in the NFL because the game is to fast and the edge players could see that from a mile away
The Best way to beat the Seminole is everybody has a player to tackle man on man FB QB RB who else is there unless Schotty has Smith run a fake option and drops back for a pass thats how you would sucker them in
The best antidote to the small, but fast and agile defense is simple power running. I don't know how strong Shonn Greene or TJ is - we'll have our hands full, as I just don't see the kind of power back that will plow through midgets, a la Ron Dayne, in either TJ or Greene. (Yes. Houston did beat the almighty Colts, on the shoulder of Dayne.) P.S. As neither TJ nor Greene can 'drag' the defender for extra yardage (like Ron would for a full 2 yards on some occasions) I believe the zone blocking comes into prime importance. If Jets OL can neutralize the DL, then their LBs, then that spells good 3-4 yards even if Thomas "Nosedive" Jones takes the carry. And, in my opinion, the OL is the best defense against Peyton as well - I know for a fact that Peyton won't score on every drive he gets in that game, so if the OL can create a situation where Jets can get a FG here and there, that will keep the Jets close enough till the 2nd half, where Colts D gets completely gassed. (That's when Greene breaks a long one. I just do not think Sanchez will have anything more than 15 yards all day.)
colots I've said this before and I'll say it again, Chargers are overated and so are the Colts, this doesn't necessarily mean we can beat the colts, but their is no question in my mind that the colts were one of the luckiest teams in the NFL this year, a breaks like that for the Jets and we could of been 13-3 or 14-2 as well.
i forget who it was, and even where i heard it, but one of the players was interviewed on 1050 last week, and he said TJ is a gym rat and one of the strongest guys in there. so far, greene hits like a mack truck. i'm not gonna question his strength.
May have been Woody. I remember the interview, can't quite remember who it was though. He pretty much said that TJ is one of the if not the strongest guy on the team and that he pretty much lives at the gym.
So far the only way the Colts have been beaten is via their top players not playing. When the top players on both sides of the ball were in the game, they won. For this sunday for the Jets to win they will have to have their defense obtain a minimum of 3 turnovers and give their offense real short fields. Otherwise it will be near impossible for the Jets to score TD's against the Colts.
Could you please explain how the Colts are overrated? Also, your Jets could have finished at 8-8 just as easily had the Colts decided to play in their last matchup.
Our point.....that is exactly what our Oline will do....and they do that with 8 or 9 in the box too....We almost certainly will get our running game going. It may take a while, but we will get it going. We are patient with it, and we do not abandon it.
I suppose the Colts just let Brad Smith run back 106 yards for fun.. Oh, and this guy DOES run over defenses
The Colts have given up 6 plays of 40+ yards via the pass this year, their Pass defence isn't very good either. They have allowed 19 TD's via the pass, and yet are still ranted 24th against the Run. If, and it's a big one ... If we can contain their DE's and give Sanchez time in the pocket or move the pocket outside, we can score on this D.
OK...lets stop this crap right now. The game was not played out, therefore NONE OF US know how that outcome would have presented. The game was only 10-3 at the time the starters were pulled. Not exactly insurmountable, so lets cut this crap right now....
