I think this is going to be a major advantage when Rex is putting together a gameplan for the Colts. Rex has the ability to look at what the Ravens were trying to do, what didn't work and adjust his gameplan accordingly. Of course this seems like what occurs every week regardless of who the opposition played. But Rex really will understand the approach of the Ravens and they run almost identical defenses. It will basically be like watching the Jets play the Colts last week. This is a major upside and a huge advantage to us in our game planning for this game IMO.
He also needs to adjust to what he did last game against the Colts and do the exact opposite. I have faith in Rex's schemes. How great were those 1-man lines against SD? Rivers had no clue what was coming (Manning is also about 150% smarter than Rivers.)
I agree good post but the fact that the Colts played the Ravens this weekend can also help the Colts and Manning because they have a similar type team and defense
yeah that was great... he most certainly does have to adjust to what the jets did against the Colts...but this gives him a leg up a from a playoff game a week prior to work off of...
definitely agreed... but i think it will benefit the Jets more...the Colts did win the game so they may attempt to attack the same way, which leaves the adjustment to the Jets
I totally agree and I believe JET will beat the COLTS this SUNDAY! JETS 21- Colts 20. Win by 1 point! Last week I predicted that JETS will win by 3 ( Jets 13- Chargers 10) and turns out I was right about the difference.
True but wasn't Rex the D line coach for Balt all those years? It's not like he doesn't know Manning, and we own the Ravens every year. hmy:
he may have been d line coach at one point i'm not sure...but most recently he was the defensive coordinator of the ravens... it's not about whether he knows Manning or not...its a matter of being able to gameplan for an AFCCG by looking at how a team with an almost identical scheme attacked
Historically Peyton is a beast vs. Rex Ryan's defense so I think it's a matter if NY's offense is able to keep up.
I don't see that being the way this game is going to go at all... although we will clearly agree to disagree
I saw the Chargers game going that way and was wrong...however, I do think we'll have to score more than 17...we'll probably have to score more along the lines of 24 to win this week.
Another positive... The one thing the Ravens consistently did well against the Colts is they laid the wood on anybody and everybody. It is not easy to get physically beaten up all day (colts offensive players) and turn around in one week and play a team not only every bit as physical and forceful but more so. So yeah, I think it will be easier sledding if our defense comes out early and lays the hats on people.
Let them think they know our D. That's what everyone seems to think and it's shown just how much they know. Rex Ryan knows how to gameplan great offenses AND make adjustments at the half. Our Big Dick Swagger D will show 'em what's up.
the worst thing we did that game was leave eric smith on dallas clark. If we're able to get a better matchup we can slow you down a bit.
I wouldn't mind putting Lowery on Clark most of the time. He's got those safety instincts to knock the ball away, and is a pretty good tackler.
