i'm sorry, dude; none of this is true. if the police mistakenly kick your door in thinking they're somewhere else, you can start blasting away? knowing that they're cops?!

you have the right to resist if excessive force is being used. you have no right to resist an arrest, lawful or not.

we're off topic. i'm not defending these guys; i've said i woulda handled it much, much differently.

sure, and that consideration would be given...at court, when the charge of resisting would be dropped.

but fighting with five cops is not going to make them back off or reconsider arresting you. it'll make them fight harder and escalate. my point was, being of sound mind (ie; not drunk), i would not fight.

You clearly have no idea what I said. Read it again.

But just in case you're some combination of too stubborn or too stupid, I'll give you a TL;DR.

The law says you can blast away an unlawful arrest, but since you can't know whether or not it's an unlawful arrest, you can't, in fact, blast away.

now you're getting rude, and you're the one being stupid. "you can, but you couldn't, so you can't?" sounds like a law.

this pisses me off, this video should be used for his defense, and whatever the charge is, it should be dropped.

now more then ever, i say, GO FUCK YOURSELF SAN DIEGO,< to the cops

And you going to the Meadowlands has what to do with this specific incident at the Q? It has what to do with the cops abusing their power? It was what to do with elected officials trying to avoid bad publicity caused by their employees in incidents such as this?

Vick you are one of my favorite posters!

I have almost been there, I got kicked out of Rich stadium (buffalo game) for swearing and being obnoxoius. But I deserved it more than that guy in the video! I did not resist and was let go.

My first road game was two years ago down in Miami and I made it a point for myself that if the Jets score any points. I would get up and raise my arms for the TD or Field Goal, Pump my fist, then sit right back down.

Now that was a regular season game. This was a playoff game. I saw no beer in his hand, I saw no verbal abuse, I saw a happy Jets fan doing the Jets chant and that was it. You have two to three Chargers fans either defending him or giving his girlfriend their phone numbers to say they saw nothing wrong with what he did.

I'm sorry but these cops did the wrong thing. I hope they get sued. California police are just not following the laws of the land.

FWIW, I agree this sucks. But whenever I was in my seats at the Meadowlands it used to piss me off when fans of the opposing teams taunted us. I always wished someone would kick their ass or they would get taken out of the stadium. But usually nothing happened. I don't approve of the cops actions, but I understand (cue Chris Rock there)

If you go to someones stadium, I think it's wrong to taunt the other fans. You should cheer, high five, etc., but turning around and taunting people he was just asking for trouble.

Having said that, they have no right to arrest a guy for being an ass, and it looks like that's what they did.

Do we know if he was charged? Or was he just escorted out of the stadium?

    I did not say that.

You misread what I wrote and, as a result, disagreed with something I didn't say. I then told you to reread it:

Just in case you were the type that still wouldn't comprehend even upon re-reading, I summed it up for you:

I set up a simple parameter: If you understand, then fine. If you don't understand, then since the statement is true and makes sense, something must be wrong with you; the two cases being a simple misreading (a mistake, everyone makes them) or a simple mind.

You refused to re-read (too stubborn) and still couldn't comprehend a simplified summary of my initial post (too stupid).

Half of the population is below average. I didn't call you stupid before - I simply presented the possibility, because of course there is the possibility.

NOW I am calling you stupid.

And if you want to continue this, the trash talking forum is right over here.

Edit - Am I handling this rudely? Yes. I've got good reasons for it, though.

I have no patience for this because you have stated that you are a police officer. Thus you should have a highly functioning knowledge of the law. Too often, police officers are held to lower standards when in reality they should be held to higher standards. I'm simply enforcing this higher standard. You're required to have (at the bare minimum) low level medical training. You're required to have working knowledge of the law and the humility to know not to apply law you're not sure of. You're not the last wall of defense between the scum and the civilized world, you're a civil servant whose primary role in today's day and age is that of a tax collector and civil mediator. Less brawn, more brains. If you can't meet these simple requirements then you shouldn't be a fucking cop. If you day dream of running down perps then you shouldn't be a fucking cop. If you get offended easily, raise your voice easily, or are prone to violence in any way, then you shouldn't be a fucking cop.

People are putting their lives and well being in your hands. The least you can do is pretend to adhere to a higher standard.

Thank you for your recent e-mail to the Office of the Mayor. Due to the high volume of e-mails, I am unable to respond to every message received.

However, please know that your input is important to me and my staff will be compiling your comments, suggestions and ideas for my review. I believe that it is important to view all sides of the complex issues that are facing the City of San Diego before taking any action, and your input is a valuable part of that process.

Thank you for taking the time to communicate with me.

This really sucks but honestly this guy shouldn't have been chanting JETS...it's alright to go to an opposing stadium and watch your team but you shouldn't be taunting anyone thats just gonna piss people off....basically asking for a fight

If this guy was that bad the san diego fans would not have been saying he did nothing wrong! He should not have been arrested for doing the Jets chant.

Story made its way onto profootballtalk.com. Like that site or not, a TON of people read it, including anyone who might be able to do anything about this (via influence of some type or another).
