http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/playoffs/2009/columns/story?columnist=clayton_john&id=4834214 I guess people will never stop doubting. I'm not saying people should be picking us to win, but we'll be in the game. Whatever, this team thrives as an underdog. :jets:
Well, his comments don't contradict what you're saying at all - he's comparing it to a game where they were losing late in the fourth quarter before Manning led them on a touchdown drive to win it in the final minutes. That sounds to me like he's saying that the Jets will be in the game, but will fall short.
seems like the line is 7.5 Jan. 24 N.Y. Jets 12 p.m. at Indianapolis Favorite IND IND IND Point spread -7? -7 -7?
good for john clayton. he is entitled to his opinion. if there is one thing we have definately learned, its that the experts opinions mean absolutely nothing. The Jets are coming to Indy to play the game, not talk about it w/john clayton & mike "the crackpipe in my glove compartment was my cousin's" irvin.
I think his point there is to show how amazing Peyton Manning is, which I don't disagree with. My point is, why is "this one easy?"
True, but he's also comparing it to a Week 2 game against a Miami team that has been starting rookies in the secondary all season. It's going to be a lot harder to exploit this team for those quick scores. I'm not saying he's wrong about the Colts being the favorite, but it seemed like an odd game to base his opinion on.
I don't think it will be easy, awesome if it turns out to be. I think the score will Colts 31 Jets 24.
How ironic would it be if we knock Peyton out of the game (not wishing injury) and beat them  That would be soo fitting. You don't lay down, we lay you down! ut if you wanna go w/ the whole let us in thing well you just opened pandoras muthafukin box bitches!
How much funnier would it be if we pulled our starters out in the third quarter and we beat you with Curtis Painter under center? Ugh... I think I just threw up a bit in my mouth there.
Good. I fucking hate John Clayton and he is wrong 99% of the time on everything, especially his picks
I think Clayton's assesment is fair. The Colts are rightfully big favorites to win at home.... media and fans all over the place continue to underestimate the power of a great defense though. Our defense will keep us in ANY game.
I hate all talking heads. And I don't know if it's the guy posting on these forums with the Kermit the Frog avatar, but doesn't John Clayton kinda remind you of Kermit? He looks like a friggin dweeb who should be telling us which stocks to buy and sell. And us to not be trusting his advice. I tell my fellow Colts fans this all the time: These guys get paid to give out OPINIONS. The players are paid to give out RESULTS. You wanna know which of those two capitalized words I respect more? Yeah...
keep giving us no chance this is how we like it! people are going to look at the raven/colt game and all of a sudden assume the jets are the same team and will struggle.
I think we remember what happened an "undefeated" team was heavily favored to beat a NY team. Time for defense and a great ground game to shove it down their throat again. Indy is the only team left in the playoffs with a crappy defense. Hopefuly not for long
