To be fair man, the SD fan was just saying that in their opinion, Tennessee and Dallas have better running games than the Jets.

    Jets YPC - 4.5
    Titans YPC - 5.2
    Cowboys YPC - 4.8

Now I'm not saying its true, because there are other factors that have to be taken into account but no stats are being twisted here, the Cowboys and Titans do have a higher YPC, and the SD fan is just pointing out that we beat both these teams, one in a blow out.

Of course, because of your outstanding D, this game probably won't be the same though.

The total is the total ... but for what it's worth ... Sanchez played 16 games this year including the playoff game last week. Of his 20 interceptions 15 of them came in only 4 games.

I'm not sayng they don't count ... but I AM saying that the stats are skewed. In 12 out of 16 games he played, he had a total of only 5 ints, and played well enough for us to win.

Chances are, he'll play a solid game and it will be up to our O-line, RB's and D to win it for us.

Actually the one stat that really shows how Rex has improved is the penalty's. The Jets were damn near leading the league in penalties 5 games in. That total has come down drastically. The Jets were an undisciplined bunch for at least the first half of the season. I am really liking how he has improved his coaching significantly as the season has progressed. It really is encouraging that Rex can self assess and change/improve what he is doing wrong. Not many have that essential ability, an extremely good sign.

Yep, I had mentioned that in a thread also on how impressed I was that he was learning from his coaching mistakes early on.
Something Herm and Mangunt never did.

The fact that the team and him are both making less mistakes is pretty impressive.

It can be argued those other two jokers regressed as the NFL landscape passed them by. It certainly was apparent in game where most fans were clamoring for halftime adjustments that never came.

I can not accurately say how many games the Jets were "out-coached" in 2009. It does seem that most of the really good moves Rex makes are after he assesses a mistake or something he can do better. for example:

I know most fans do not like Shotty much. There was a story about how he, Schotty, was pissed or insulted when Rex took a greater interest in the offense. Well this team has improved significantly since.

It also speaks volumes when Shotty completely turns down the Bills job after a supposed "snub/insult". That says to me that Schotty recognizes something in Rex more so than the Bills being a crappy job. If the snub was so bad, Schott would have interviewed in a freaking heartbeat.

Besides that, the Jets have made adjustments constantly and do not get beat on anything consistently, save for Sanchez's turnovers. Those turnovers have by and large been nullified by the collaboration of Rex and Schotty.

This is a long winded way of saying I was very cautious on Rex to begin with as a result of me being stupid enough to be taken in by Mangini in the beginning. My bad on that. I have seen enough of Rex to say he is no Mangini. He is no egomaniacal dictator. He has an innate ability that makes him special, allows him to improve and assess things honestly and fix them. That is one of the most encouraging signs I have seen in a Jets coach in quite a long time........... say 1997.

"Listen we can say the same thing about the Chargers and their offensive stats, the only reason why Rivers is so good is because he plays in a weak division, so he can inflate his stats."

Nice no reply rules you guys got here. .

We were 4-0 against the NFC East this year.

This dont mean squat but if you must, it means we should score more points than you will.

Absurd you say? Well thats what the stats imply.

Exactly...i think they dont mean much right now.

And we didnt lose to Miami twice...we actually beat them. I dont know what to say. If they think playing Buffalo twice trumps us playing Oakland..who they played as well. Opps, they lost to Buffalo once too. Damn!

    Splitting the difference on points

(your scoring average - our opp. scoring average)/ 2 +our opp. scoring average

    is 21.6 points.

Same math for us is 20.9 points. So yeah I guess theoretically you should win by .7 points. but yeah splitting the difference equally on both sides is pretty unlikely....

We have played all 4 teams that were higher ranked then the Chargers as far as passing stats are concerned. We had success slowing down the passing games of the Patriots, Saints and Texans. The Colts moved the ball but was not able to throw for any TD's in the 2 1/2 quarters that Payton played. I am feeling better about our chances!:jets:

Perhaps they should. I mean, the Jets have a lot of check marks and finished the season 9-7. The Bolts have few check marks and finished 13-3.

    Its the height
