I think a lot of the confidence on the Jets side is derived form your thrashing of the Bengals, a once near-elite team this year, back-to-back, as well as the second half of the Colts game.

I can't honestly believe that you all had this kind of faith when you were 7-7 and had lost at home to the star-less Falcons.

Hence, that it was I am reiterating the Bengals...they were a shell of their former self, and shot themselves in the foot way too much last week. Don't get me wrong, the Jets deserved to win for sure, but I just wouldn't take as much stock in the last 3 games as most Jets fans are doing.

Case in point: we won out last 4 games last year (against admittedly sinking teams as well) and surprised the favored Colts (much like you you did last week). Fans had a ton of bravado...and then we got humbled by the bye-week healthy Steelers. Just sayin. Looks familiar.

I can see this argument going on forever, or at least until Sunday.

I can admit, Sunday will be a tough task, but not impossible.

Rivers is excellent, Gates is out of this world, Floyd and Vincent are tall fast physical WRs, Tomlinson at one time was the best back in the league. And guys on D like Brandon Siler and Cromartie are playmakers.

But I would add that the onus is on the Chargers, not the Jets. If the Chargers win, they should have, if the Jets win, it is disaster for the Chargers. The Jets can afford to play loose and just keep the game close to have a shot late. They are heavily favored and for good reason, tons of talent. That hasn't changed and has been the case for years now, they could just never finish the job.

You are right...although the last two years at home in the playoffs we have taken care of business and even covered the games.

My apologies, I was referring to a team without their all-NFL running back healthy that they base most of their offense on...and a recently injured QB.

Still had Gonzalez and Roddy White. Abraham and young up and coming start Curtis Lofton.

See what you have here is what angers alot of Jet fans like me. All we had to hear after the final game of the season is how the Bengals didn't gameplan, rested alot of starters, didn't even try. Etc...

Last week was supposed to be the real Bengals. Tough defense, one of the top five in the league, solid offense focused on a strong running game and playmakers like Ocho.

Now they did run the ball with Benson. But Palmer looked almost as bad as the last game. And consider that the Bengals actually scored first. This is why I got my hopes up. The Jets stopped the terrible mistakes (just look at the OT loss to the Bills to see how they self destructed in games), and the running game and defense have led the way. With no passing game, the Jets still found a a way to run the ball all year, yet some give no credence to that. They lost their best run stuffer and arguably the heart of the defense in Jenkins, and yet the D got better.

That's why I say, if the Jets had a passing game, they would be so much harder to beat. Hell Indy only scored 15 points before pulling starters, yet no one believes the Jets had any shot at all to win. This is not a fluke, the Jets have been playing like this all year.

we have progressed in that passing game, recently. Just need to do the obvious, run the ball.

no you didn't, but if they aren't worthless you can't criticize using them to validate an argument as well as applaud to validate an argument. you really do enjoy presenting yourself as a hypocrite, don't you?
sorry, I don't think any intelligent person could misconstrue my post as not understanding your point. my post simply pointed out how asinine your point was, just like this post of yours. comprehension is as big a problem for you as hypocrisy I see.

it's okay. just rest your head when the words get too big for you and come back later.

You guys beat them fair and square. What (doesnt exactly anger) somewhat annoys some of us Bolt fans is the amount of importance you are putting on this last game.

We are not the Bungles, and you will not dominate Rivers or the oline like you did to the Bungles.

Hey, I would be stoked to get into the playoffs like you did and then be one game away from the AFC championship (and even hosting it)...I mean, it happened exactly to us last year, almost same situation. I am just being a bit of a blowhard about tempering your expectations, because that's what opposing teams fans do. We' re all assholes to other team.

I criticize they way they are used, and how much some depend on them. Stats can be a good tool, but too many here believe a stat from one particular part of the game, filtered to benefit their team, is going to determine how the game plays out. It's pretty stupid. I know you haven't been able to understand that, but that's your problem.

LOL at your use of "hypocrite" - don't really know how to apply that properly do ya?

Actually no, we should forfeit. I mean whats the fucking point in playing? All your 6'4, 6'5 and 6'6 wr's are going to manhandle us as they have all season to the opposing teams. Hell you guys might not even need those other guys because you do have Vincent fucking Jackson who is 6 feet 6 inches and Darrelle runner up Revis hasn't faced anyone as tall or as physical as Jackson all season. And then on top of that when we get the ball we're just gonna go 3 and out 75% of the time because on 3rd downs Sanchez won't be able to convert any passing situations. This is no contest, hand the Chargers the trophy, us Jet fans are talking out of our ass like our head coach. Pack it in guys. Good luck San Diego, better luck next year for us.

No, no, no. The Bolts should forfeit because the Jets are peaking at the right time of year, and because Rex has planned a parade, whereas Norv has not. It would be less of a hassle for us to concede, fewer appointments to cancel.

No, no, no. Like I said Revis hasn't faced anyone as tall as VJ all year. On top of that we can't cover your other guys because no matter how fast our blitzes get to Phillip Rivers he has as a release as fast as any QB in NFL history.

I actually saw Norv's presser and he said "i think the term shutdown corner is used too often but watching this guy on film i'd have to say he just may be".
Seemed to be giving high praise to Revis.
