With Charger fan prob not seeing enough of Johnson, it's hard to make that call too. VJ is certainly bigger. He fast and a great route runner. He also has a reputation as one of the better run blocking WR in the league, so the physicality is there. Sunday's match up with Revis will be the most entertaining, for me at least.
lol @ people still saying vincent jackson is more physical or stronger because he's 6'5 instead of 6'3. clearly have never seen AJ play andre johnson is probably the strongest and most physical WR in the game. you can never accuse him of being soft or a "finesse" guy. like i said, the guy is a bull mixed with a gazelle oh noz, the mighty VJ is gonna do what one of the greatest receivers of all time couldn't do (twice) and what the best receiver in the game right now argubaly couldn't do at home. cuz he's a whole inch taller!!! <---awesome west coast football logic guys. lets go surf and wear our douchey affliction shirts that were never cool to begin with, but we still wear 2 years after they're trendy cause we're extreme!!!
maybe if we type slower you'll understand. It's not the sum of one player, but the combination of the offensive team? get it? Unlike revis, VJ has to have a surrounding cast of people around him to get the job done, like Rivers. And yes Rivers/VJ is a better combination than Palmer/bigmouthstinko
the jets have the number 1 defense, number 1!!!! have you heard of david harris bart scott calvin pace jim leonhard lito sheppard and sean ellis?
He's probably had 5 penalties all season, and 4 of them were BS calls (3 in that Bengals game) I'm assuming that is the only Jets game you've watched all season and are basing him just on those bullshit calls.
but you have heard of malcom floyd and how he is the second coming of jesus correct? and how he will be able to dominate the former pro bowler in lito sheppard on every snap?
What makes you think Revis doesn't have a surrounding cast of players? The Jets secondary has played better than any in the league this year, and it's not even close.
BS calls or not, he's had roughly 5 ALL season, 17 games, and now people are giving him a reputation as a player that gets 3 penalties a game. And if you know anything about football, biased or not, they were awful calls.
3 catches a game is not impressive. I don't care how good they look, he's just not that big of a factor. As I said before, your possession receiver scares no one. San Diego delenda est.
Yes Revis is the top CB in the league but the Chargers have more than one weapon. VJ might get shut down but don't be surprise if he's not.
Right..Taller..faster..Better...like Tommy Hearns going against Marvin Hagler.... That's how this is going to go...
Yes, and Revis isn't the only weapon the Jets have on defense. This seems to be overlooked by every Chargers fan I have heard from this week. Unbelievable. It takes more than a cornerback to attain the rank of #1 NFL defense. Much more.
Pitoitua is the only player on our team that can cover Jackson. But then they can throw to their 15 other WRs 6'4+.
It's too bad the Jets didn't face Stafford and Cutler twice this year. Peter King would be writing them into Canton as we speak.
