I'm looking for Lowery to have a big game. He'll likely be the #4 CB if Strickland is back but the guy has broken free of his rookie troubles this season, for the most part.

Hopefully, he handles his match ups well and I would not be too surprised to see him screaming in off the edge on some blitz packages. He better be hungry for some highlight material in this game.

Having guys like Revis, Sheppard and even Strickland around will help Lowery's development a lot IMO.

Let's hope they all step up for this game.

BTW congrats to Lito on his baby boy...!

This really is such an insanely talented secondary. If only Sheppard had played the entire season like he had before he got hurt. You could clearly see that he wasn't as good when he came back, the biggest example being how Collie was destroying him in the Colts game. Collie was so open on most of those plays that Jake Delhomme could have completed those passes.

The key is the pass rush. That's the only way this defense will pull this off. Lowery can cover maybe 2-3 seconds and then he will get exposed. Normally it's either over the top or on a hard slant. If he doesn't anticipate it right the receiver will make the completion. He tackles well but he can't let someone get past him. Look for them to try and slant him on 3rd downs that aren't a mile.

Lowery has decent coverage and a nose for the ball, but he just doesn't have the closing speed to jump a route, so quicker receivers can def get the jump on him and bigger receivers can box him out so this game doesn't bode very well for him either...He's a great zone coverage DB so that's when they should use him

Denny, that astroturf comment was Tug McGraw, not Joe Namath.

lowery is actually very useful on the pass rush. he often lines up in the slot so he often has a clear path to the qb. i expect to see a lot of nickel, dime and quarter packages this game, many with the 3 safety look that we like to bring. heck, we have 8 healthy DB's so we might even see the dollar package late.

    Good article.

I expect Lowery to be a career Jet. His biggest weaknesses are in changes of direction and getting a good break on the ball. I think he'll improve those skills with experience.

I'm glad he's hungry for this game.

Awesome! Put Lowrey on Gates and Jackson some more. I like those matchups all day!

He couldn't of found that shit last week?

Eventhough, other than that Coles TD he was pretty decent.
