The only difference I see is that the Giants team you mentioned got a ton of pressure on the QB, and the Jets haven't been able to dial up many sacks this year.

Your secondary is superior to that team in my opinion, so it's going to be a little different... less pressure, but better coverage is going to be a solid test.

You do have a monster run game, but we have faced teams with monster run games this year and done ok... the only dfference is that the Jets seem more committed to their run game, than other teams... this could bode well for you later in the game, if the score is still close, and the defense is tired.

    that's my honest take...

You realize the bengals were a much better run D than the Chargers, and the Jets still ran it in against them, right?

The aspect of this game that I'm most worried about is ST and Antonio Gates. One thing I'm pretty sure of is that the Jets will be much more physical at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball.

And the game is won and lost at the line.

You'll find one game in this 17 game schedule where we've been down by 20, chief.

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/teams/schedule?team=nyj

EDIT: ...and only five games where a team has even scored 20+.

The Jets get plenty of pressure, it just doesn't result in a ton of sacks. It's just not "hidden" pressure that often results in a sack, it's in the QB's face pressure that results in incompletions and INT's.

yes. I don't think the game is going to be a blowout, or a high scoring affair, but I feel that (like the Colts) we have enough weapons to throw our best against your best, and be victorious.

several Charger fans have come here predicting a blowout... and /or just being douche' bags in general. That is not the population of Charger fans I belong to.

    Take care.

I think most of us are expecting a close game too. Most of us see the Jets as dogs. We just see some good matchups for the Jets in this game.

yes. you realize the Chargers are a much more dynamic offense than the Bengals right?

additionally, the Chargers have only allowed 10 rushing TD's this year which is tied for 7th in the league which further illustrates my point.

Despite allowing teams to run between the 20's, we stiffen up in the red zone.

You realize the Jets defense allowed EIGHT passing touchdowns all season.

    Your stat doesn't impress me

you're partly correct.....however, not producing sacks doesn't necessarily prove the Jets aren't getting a ton of pressure on the QB.....for example...in week 2, The Jets D was all over Tom Brady....he was surrounded by pressure...and he didn't know where it was coming after each snap.

Phillip Rivers will be dealing with the same exotic defensive looks.....i guarantee it.

8 passing TD's and 11 rushing if I am not mistaken... yet you still managed to lose 7 games.

i fixed it a while ago.

And it doesn't matter how many you lose in the regular season if you win in the playoffs--new england went 16-0 2 years ago--how'd that work out?

You do realize you allowed 33(!!!!!) TDs this season right?
You do realize you have a Pro-bowl QB and we have a rookie QB right?

I'm going to guess you've seen the Jets play twice this season. Fair assumption?

oh no doubt... but (correct me if I am wrong) haven't you been prone to getting exploited by good screen passes?

Norv is a heck of a play caller, and Sproles is pretty dangerous coming out of the backfield, in space... LT can be too for that matter.

I've actually watched quite a few of the Jets games in the first half of the season... I am a USC fan, and a friend of mine is Mark Sanchez's cousin so I wanted to see how we would do.

That said, I didn't see many of their games in the second half of the season.

Sacks do not equal QB pressure. In the first Patriots game we played this season, the Jets did not sack Brady once, but they hit him over 20 times and caused a number of incompletions and an INT. I agree that the stat is confusing, but it works.
