Thats what Bronco fans used to say when we played them and Champ Bailey. Rivers went after Champ too and had great success. Rivers dont care who is covering his WR if he is open. He isnt going to force a throw though. But he will throw Revis' way. It dont matter if Revis shuts down Vince Jackson though. The Chargers dont need him to have a big game for us to win. All our WR's are very capable. Malcom Floyd had 9 catches when Jackson didnt even suit up last game.
Thats possible. I was kidding. I think now that were into the divisional round of the playoffs, you guys should stop saying we were given a game. Were here now, and congrats, you get to play us. And in reference to not needing jackson. You failed to realize that our whole defense in #1 in pass defense, not just revis
I agree... and I haven't been the Charger fan here saying we were going to destroy you guys... or that the game is going to be a blowout. I have only challenged a few people that seem to have tunnel vision in their approach to this game, or the perception of each of these teams.
The best thing about this game is that if you throw out records this is obviously the most closely matched game in the playoffs. Its all going to be about who does what they do better. I would love for the jets to win but to me this game is 50/50. This is especially a bonus considering I didnt even expect them to make the playoffs at the beginning of the season.
Don't forget about having Jason Campbell playing in the worst offensive system for his skill set. San Diego delenda est.
ok... so we'll throw out the Redskins win, and you throw out the Colts win... we still win the division... and you guys don't make the playoffs. Deal? you can fabricate situational statistics to prove damn near any point you wan't to make on a given topic...
This game could go the Jets way if they can run the ball consistently, control the clock wear down the Chargers D and keep the Chargers offense off the field as much as possible. If the Chargers can get ahead early and force the Jets into playing catch up and Sanchez into mistakes the game could get away turn into a blow out. The Chargers are very good at keeping the opposing defense in a formation that they can exploit. This is going to be fun to watch unfold.
Actually, most of us have the Chargers as the best or 2nd best team in the playoffs. Check out the rankings page in the NFL forum. You guys are still my pick to win the Super Bowl, but I think we match up well with you. The Bengals were running the ball quite well throughout the first half, then inexplicably went pass only for the remainder of the game. They were averaging 5.5 YPC at halftime. For some reason, they decided to be a pass first team from that point on in the game. Could have something to do with the fact that Henry had passed away a few days earlier. Who knows? You're only improved against the run in total yards. Your run defense has been aided by a couple of things: -Improved red zone play against the run -A quick strike offense that has put teams behind. Teams have run the ball very well against you early on in games, but have been forced to go to the pass in the 2nd half more often than not. Which is why it'll be important to keep your offense off the field. Let's just call your rushing attack and Indy's "equally anemic". You've been by far the worst team in the NFL in YPC, Indy is the worst in total yards. Your TDs are roughly even. Of course it will be tough for us to win. We're not as good as either of the top remaining seeds. However, we match up well with you. That's the whole point. And his proficiency against the blitz is my primary concern. Of course he watches tape. He's a professional. It's going to be difficult, though, to replicate in practice with your personnel what we actually do on the field. It's not going to be a piece of cake for him by any means just because he's watched tape. We don't exactly blitz like other teams, either. We create pressure, but we don't total a ton of sacks. The blitz is just part of our pass defense, and our coverage is just as, if not more, important. We don't have to sack him to be successful. No. We know most of that. And your team is NOT overrated. IMO, they're the best team in the NFL right now, although the Cowboys are hotter. However, I have to reiterate what we're saying: we're not as good, perhaps, but we match up well.
Who said anything about throwing it out? You offered up their defense as if the Redskins game wasn't a gift. They were a bad team to begin with and lost their only true offensive weapons in Clinton Portis and Chris Cooley. We played a great team that pulled starters midway through the 3rd quarter with a whopping 5 point lead. Both teams were into their backups. The Colts were better to begin with. At worst it's a wash. BTW, I haven't "fabricated" a single statistic. They're all very much real and correct.
The Jets had a grand total of 3 more INT's than the Chargers this season, with an average of 1 per game. ...I also heard Revis consumes receivers with fireballs from his eyes and bolts of lighting from his arse... That, and he can ask his father in heaven to make it rain for forty days and forty nights in San Diego. Chargers should forfeit and send the ticket money back to their fans.
omg Its so disgusting how OVERCONFIDENT the Chargers forum is. I mean they are declaring this matchup laughable. These fools are so cocky its ridicolous. If in the case the Jets defeat the Chargers, the Chargers board is going have hell to pay from us Jets fans. Its pathetic how cocky they are.
REVIS does not victimize opposing receivers, but uses his divinity to enlighten them of their mortality. REVIS SAVES :breakdance:
