Darn it. Thanks Adam Schein for your, "talking to me fellow colleagues with votes, I think Revis is gonna win," BS. http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/storie...TING?SITE=VABRM&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT
Both guys deserved it, I think the # of TDs he scored influenced voters but there isn't a better corner in the NFL than revis. QBs don't throw at Revis, they do throw at Woodson so he gets more opps to make plays.
As annoying as this is, I am almost glad Revis didn't get it. If he had won DPOTY his contract demands probably would have doubled. Also, I'd rather see Revis playing with a chip on his shoulder in the playoffs. I'll take a near-miss DPOTY and 3 picks against the Chargers any day of the week.
Sucks, but I'm not surprised. Woodson did have an excellent season, but he's not the shut-down cover CB that Revis is...not close.
Honestly, he seems like the kind of guy that would rather have the 3 picks as well. That would be a hell of a "How you like me now"!
What a joke. GB played 5 playoff teams this year. 3 of them beat GB. 1 of them, Arizona week 17, sat there starters. The 1 win, was Baltimore....not exactly an offensive powerhouse. My point is, this defense is GREATLY overrated. Had this not been the "Number 2" defense in the NFL, he wouldn't have one the award. He played against 2 "Top Tier" WRs this year. 2!!! Revis....9!!! Woodson faced Ochocinco, who went 4 catches for 94 yards and a TD and Calvin Johnson who went 2 catches for 10 yards and a TD. I'm rambling...sorry. This is a joke. Woodson is NOT as good as D Revis. This years award is a farce.
Revis was robbed, but I suppose the politics of the situation makes that easy to explain off. Woodson has a whole bunch of tangible stats...he's older and has a good rep in the league (not that Revis doesn't)... W/e, it won't kill Revis and he looks good enough that he'll compete for it again.
