I agree. Callahan can be a real good Offensive Coordinator as he proved when he was coach with the Raiders.
There's a loophole in that rule. You are allowed to interview candidates of a team on a bye week, on specific off days, like the Vikings were. The Jets would have a week off if they get to the Super Bowl
Listening to NFL Radio on sirius, Brian's father Marty said that he thinks that there is almost zero chance that Brian would take a HC job anywhere. He said he has talked at length to him and advised against it. He also claimed that Brian and his wife are VERY happy in NYC
I'm with you 100% on this. If the interaction with Rex has brought Schotty down to earth, he could be a great asset. He is a very smart and creative guy. I would think he could benefit from another year or two here. Buffalo could be a tough gig. I think we're better than just okay with Callahan if he goes.
Why go to Buffalo?! I believe he'll stay a Jet for another year... This team will be a force this coming year and I believe the O will be much better being the first full off-season Sanchez gets as a pro plus we'll have a more defined WR group. Then after next year I'm sure he'll get more offers on the table... That is of course unless Wilson decides to drop big money on him... If that's the case he should accept the Bills job straigght away.
I am absolutely confident that if BS leaves then Callahan steps in and we lose NOTHING. Folks, the blueprint is in place already. Run the ball, play great D and let the QB throw the ball 15-20 times. Maybe at the beginning of the season when Rex was finding his way and he allowed the ridiculous play calling where Sanchez was throwing the ball WAY more than he ever should've. The last month I'm sure has done nothing but reinforce what we should've been doing since week one...
I remember not being scared when Bill Belichick bolted for the Pats because of his HC history with the Browns. If I knew then...
I'd like to keep the continuity on offense going so we don't hinder Sanchez with having to learn a new system.
Schotty has improved the last couple weeks, but I am still not sold on him. Losing him to Buffalo would be fine with me, seriously. Him staying is fine with me too. I am in that boat, if it makes sense.
I've read that there is an investment group on the West Coast planning to build a football only stadium 25miles east of LA and has been in contact with 4 NFL franchises one of which is the Bills. The thinking is that Jax is the team that would jump but moving the Bills out west would require them to make a splashy signing for their FO/CS positions. Depending on how far the Jets go definetly weighs on his chances.
Are you trying to imply Schotty would be considered splashy? Cower would be splashy. Schotty? Don't think so.
