I'm with Jet on this one. I was calling for Clemens to start after the Buffalo debacle, and while Sanchez was bad enough to engender such comments, he's progressed far more in 10 weeks than I thought possible. I thought it would take him a year to be this good, and I'm thrilled to be wrong.
He is learning alot and growing on the job...excieing to watch. He made zero mistakes today, there was only one pass that bothered me slightly, it was the short slant on the bengals five...the CB jumped it but Cotch held on. Other than that he was flawless.
Sanchez showed from the opening day that he had the skill set to be an NFL QB. We have been looking for a young franchize QB since Chad tore his shoulder in 04. I was thrilled we made the move. I really didn't think we could make the playoffs with a rookie QB. What we got today was a taste. You have to give Tannenbaum his props. Revis, Harris, D'Brick, Mangold, Greene, Sanchez and Keller were the outright strength of this team today. The Sanchez hate this year has been over the top.
I for one, never thought he should have been benched as a STARTER, but I did think there were a couple of games that he should have been pulled in. Why? Because I knew this team's 3 year future depended on Sanchez. I was all in, but I thought it was a weak hand. Now it looks like we had pehaps, an ace in the hole.
Sanchez really showed up today.Efficient, accurate, and smart. It is a great time of year for the growing to be peaking and now he can just play and know that it is not all on him; the rest of the team is there for him. It was a treat to see how he played today. I really think it may very well have been his best game of the year in terms of execution. Some of those throws were lasers. On a sad note: Braylon: You gotta stop the butterfingers stuff. This is the playoffs. You have to catch balls like the one in the endzone today. You gotta catch those, man.
Cincy has a pretty good defense and Mark handled it VERY well. I'm liking what I'm seeing, but the Colts/Chargers are going to be VERY difficult for him.
Regardless of what happens next week, I'm happy with the way this Jets team has played these past few weeks. Progression. The SOJ will not be resurrected. (fingers crossed) :jets:
Yes it is. Because of my posts about Sanchez, I have the dubious honor of being nominated for most of the "he's an asshole" awards. There have been some very heated "debates" about my views on Sanchez. It led to some... rather unpleasant exchanges. If Petro actually took the time to read his MB on occassion, and not just after a playoff game, maybe he would have understood... maybe not. Petro, leave it to the mods that are here all the time.
There are multiple Sanchez threads. This is what happens, regardless of whether or not the different thread have different views in the OP. Just let it go.
