Me too. Where he originally opened it was a bad idea. Across from a college campus? College students don't have money. Hopefully he is opening it where the new Jets complex is or Bergen County. I would def go there.

Bergen County would be great, he'd cleanup there.

If the rumor is true the Grand Opening should be pretty cool.

Hopefully he has better luck with the local authorities where the new place is located.

Wayne Chrebet and Hempstead restaurant targeted by cops

    BY John Marzulli

    Friday, May 9th 2008, 9:41 AM

Nassau County authorities tried to shutter former Jets wide receiver Wayne Chrebet's restaurant because his business manager had testified against cops, a new suit charges.

In the suit, former business manager Matthew Prince contends cops and fire marshals raided the Chrebet's restaurant in Hempstead on its opening night last year and handed out petty summonses in subsequent raids.

Prince contends they targeted him because he had testified about a violent 2002 confrontation between cops and a patron of a restaurant located in the same spot. Prince's testimony cleared the patron of "trumped-up charges of assaulting a police officer," the federal court suit says.

"Mr. Chrebet came to understand that if he did not sever his business relationship with Mr. Prince, the county police officers and fire marshals would continue to raid Chrebet's," the complaint alleges.

Chrebet and Prince parted ways last fall, but the suit charged that cops showed up at Chrebet's on March 7 and said they were looking for Prince. The restaurant was issued a violation for a garbage can blocking a stairwell door.

    Chrebet's agent declined to comment.

Lorna Goodman, a spokeswoman for the county, said she had not seen the suit. "A complaint in federal court is nothing more than an unproven allegation," she said.

I would like to think he'd be smarter about where he opens and who he is business partners with.

No word yet on whether Danny Woodhead will open up a smaller, shittier restaurant next door.
