i really think so....i definitely think hes going to be used more and more if (when)we beat Cincy.

..and if teams cant stop it....you keep running it.....with the blocks he was getting combined with BS's speed.....its just the perfect combination!

He could very well be the most improved player on the Jets this year. He is now making plays, other than his great ST work which he was always good at tackling on ST. I see they don't line him up at WR much anymore, he seems very comfortable in his role now than he was at WR.

The key to going deep in the playoffs is #6.

    I think its more #60, #66, #74, #65, #67, #20, #23, then #6 on offense

I agree with this totally. If the O-Line can somehow be dominant enough to allow the Jets to keep pounding the rock on the ground then all of the sudden the Jets winning a game or two in January doesn't seem so crazy. Eventually Sanchez is gonna have to make a few plays though.

I don't agree with this at all. It's impossible to make a deep playoff run without your quarterback making plays. At some point, we're going to have to rely on Sanchez to make a play that a mediocre QB wouldn't make. This team is built for playing with a lead, with the running game and the defense, but you have to assume at some point we'll end up playing from behind. And what's going to make or break us is Sanchez's ability to step up and lead this team.

The Jets have to mix it up a bit and make other considerations off the formation. The option does not consistently work int he NFL, and you know that Cincinnati is practicing against it this week and going over responsibilities in detail to defend.

I would love to see Brad and company give the look of option, run toward the sidelines with Shonne Green, have him stop, drop back 2 steps, and hit Braylon on a post.

They need to put little deviations into the offense that teams have not seen.

He could have thrown the ball like a hand grenade to Cotchery on one play yesterday he was so open ...

Ummm..Maybe rex was just setting up Cincy. They are going to be stacking the box when Brad is QB. Daring the Jets to throw. B2B. Brad to Braylon.

The pass is definitely going to appear.

Same thing with Miami during our first match-up. We knew it was only a matter of time before Ronnie Brown actually passed out of the Wildcat. Now it's time for Brad Smith to pass out of our Seminole.

I was just thinking about this while watching the Bengals game on tv. I'm sure we've practiced throwing the ball out of Seminole/Tigercat/Mizzou/whateveritscalled, and I'm confident Schotty will be calling such a play on our first or second offensive drive on Saturday. That way we will be able to keep them second guessing and open up more those running lanes when Brad lines up behind #74

I don't see how we're in total disagreement. Maybe you missed where I wrote "Sanchez is gonna have to make a few plays."

Yes. If we could draw up some plays for a slot receiver to be in the open field, to go along with the recent resurgence of the High percentage pass, maybe he will.

That dart on time to JCo on Sunday was the kind of thing he should be doing more of.

Well your statement was affirming the thought that our O-line and running backs would be higher up on the list of keys for the game. That's what I take exception with.

I think that the offensive line is the most important factor for almost any team. Put Tom Brady behind the Rams offensive line and see how many games he wins. It's not for nothing that the Jets spent 2 first rounders on o-linemen and a ton of money to bring in two other first rounders as free agents.

Like I said, Sanchez is gonna have to make some plays--he's the QB, everything goes through him. But if he is the deciding factor in the game on Saturday, then the Jets are gonna lose.

i do think our o - line and running backs will take a higher key to the game than # 6...yes # 6 is going to have to make some plays but he can be reeled in and if we run the ball and control the clock sanchez will NOT have to win the game

I wont' say deciding factor, but I think without question his performance is the most important of any Jet. He needs to submit like a B-. He does that, we have a shot...anything less and we don't. And I'd put the odds of him doing that at 60/40. That's why I say he's the key. As an individual, his performance is most likely to determine whether or not the Jets win the game, in my opinion.
