Welker is not the same as Edelman. Currently Edelman is like a poor man's Wes Welker. He is good, similar play style, but not on his level now and hopefully never.
I'd love to call Fatcessa's show and then play that Billy Madison sound clip. That would be freaking funny..... :rofl2:
Man he must be surfing the fuk outta the int#rzW3bz.. Off the TOMH I'd say Faulk only because what he was w/Indy & Rams...I doubt he lead the league but He probably be the closest. But in reality, there probably isn't one.
Tomlinson, I believe. *Edit: Just checked....in 2003 LT led the AFC in receptions with 100 (still damn impressive), but was 4th overall.
They dump it off to him, they are like long handoffs. He's a good player but it's a joke anyone thinks he's one of the best WRs in the game. He averages 10 yards a rec, he doesn't score TDs. It's just a bunch of dump offs. Welker misses the first game against us and edleman catches 8 for 98, 12,25 per rec. basically the same as Welker except he has a higher yards per. Welker leaves the Houston game w/ injury and Edelman catches 10 for 103- that's Welker!
There's a difference. Edelman will play the Welker role. He won't do it nearly as well. Defenses don't care about Julian Edelman, they care about Randy Moss. Edelman had 8 for 98 in the first game and they scored 9 points. Welker had 15 for 192 and they scored 24 points offensively.
I think the idea here would be to look at what kind of routes Welker runs for the most part. I agree with the sentiments that most of his routes seem to be little short ones. He is a great slot reciever but stats are padded by constant short dump off passes.
If it was that easy then every team would have a Welker with 125 receptions in 13 games..it isn't and they don't. We once had one in Chrebet..haven't since.
I dont understand how anyone can say that Wes Welker is replaceable. See us playing pats at home and then on the road and see what a difference Wes made.
They don't care about Welker either- they care about Moss. that's why we put Revis on Moss and not Welker. That 2nd game was a very UN-Welker like game. he played probably the best game of his career. Chrebet wasn't just a dump off guy. They use Welker as an extension of the running game, other teams don't need to do that or they dump off passes to their RBs w/ the same results. Brady knocking off the rust was a bigger factor in that game than Welker. Remember, Brady was missing alot of receivers in that 1st game and he was harrassed all game. The 2nd game we didn't touch him.
I have to say, this is a good point. If Welker is such a ho-hum, replaceable player, then how come every team doesn't have a Wes Welker who produces similarly?
He LOVES acting like he's broken every major news story in America. Pretty soon he'll be saying that it was him that broken news of 9/11
TMKS is having a long SOJ discussion right now. Someone call in and direct the show hosts and its listeners to this forum.
