Revis should get it unless i'm mistaken, Green Bay bays a tampa 2 type scheme, where Woodson is usually playing a zone. So of course he's gonna grab more picks and make more tackles.... In addition to that Revis as the best cover in the league will never blitz.... So Of course he's gonna have more sacks and Fumble stats Revis is way more important to a defense tho
Do not read into Schein's bullshit Peter king has said Revis is the runaway candidate for DPOY. King may be a douche, but he has a better pulse on the voting that Schein's dumbass.
Yea it's bullshit, but whenever I turn on ESPN all they talk about is Woodson winning the award, so expect him to win it:shit:
Hate to say it, but Woodson had ANOTHER Pick-6 yesterday. That gives him three for the season, one short of the NFL record. That is a "sexy" stat and looks much better in the eyes of voters that "Passes Defensed." I agree, Revis has been the best defensive player in the NFL this year, but I seriously doubt he'll overcome Woodson.
He only has those because he's thrown at more, it really is not hard to see. But the voters will likely be blinded by dumb stats too. They should check what the receivers did against them, that is the real test of a Corner. Woodson probably gives up some big plays just to pad his stats. Revis is just interested in shutting his man down.
Yea Woodson not only has more interceptions and td's but he has a couple sacks and more tackles. All stats that people will look at and assume hes better. You can't appreciate Revis' impact as much without watching his performance every game. Its his lack of needed plays that really make him the impact player.
First, King is an idiot. Voting Carnell Lake as MVP over Favre and Barry Sanders in '97 is inexcusable and cements his status as an idiot. Second, while Revis has had a better year as a cover corner, you can't deny that Woodson has excelled in various roles for that defense. Third, coin flip. Either would be a solid choice.
Just like we are lobbying for Revis here, what do you think Packers fans will be saying if Woodson doesn't win the award? They'll SCREAM that they were robbed! I can hear them now, "Revis had less interceptions, less tackles and NO sacks and he won over our guy with more INTs, three Pick-6's and 2 sacks?!"
First of all, you can't judge Woodson impact on the game by looking at the opposing team's number 1 receiver's stats like you can with Revis, as Green Bay does not play man coverage nearly as much as we do, so Woodson is not lined up one-on-one against the opposing no 1 receiver the whole game. Secondly, CB is the last position that can be judged by looking at the CB's individual stats. The CB's job is to fly under the radar. If his name is called, it is usually a big play for the offense, a big completion, TD or defensive PI, or to the D with a pass deflection or an INT. They certainly do not. Dom Capers is famous for using the 3-4 zone blitz defense, totally different from the 4-3 Tampa 2.
