Cut the BS.... Corners, even Revis are gonna get beat once in a while. Another BS reply, guys been great. Go remember the 1 play he got beat on.
I wanted to not like him so I hoped he played like shit? Did you seriously just cite that degenerate pig Francesa as a credible source? I'm starting to question not only your opinions, but your intelligence as well.
He was repeatedly beat that game. LOL Collie had 6 catches for almost a 100 yards in little more than 1/2 of a game. What game did you watch? If by getting beat, "once in a while", you mean like 3-4 times in a season. Then yeah Revis is going to get beat. Not 3-4 times in little more than 1/2 a game like Lito did last week. Edit: Francessa knows jack shit. Most of the stuff he says is just pure bullshit to piss people off.
Weatherford is the best punter we've had in years with the exception of Graham. What exactly do you want from him?
His punting distance is only slightly below average, he's kicked his fair share of punts in the 20 and he's great weapon for fakes. He's one of the better punters we've had this decade.
Agreed. Not sure where the weatherford hate came from. Maybe folks are confusing him with Reggie Hodges? Guy's been a solid acquisition
Stricklands been injured 80% of the year but since Lowery is back i dont care to much, but now weatherford ? he's a pretty shitty punter but anybody else at this point isn't going to be any better. most likely alot worse.
So Woody is OK? I really thought he got hurt pretty badly when someone crashed into his knee. Is he even on the injury report?
Jeez, do you people not remember Reggie Hodges? Toby Gowin? Dan Stryzinski? Tupa in his last year here? Weatherford has been fine.
That fake punt against the raiders was classic. He actually was outrunning their entire coverage unit. Is there a video available for that play?
You have to look at all the stats since field position is the most important when punting. Weatherford has only had 25 of his 77 punts returned for about 180 yds. The top 4 punters in avg yards have had over half of their punts returned for over 400 yds each. A lot of credit has to go to the rest of special teams also but Weatherford has been fine.
In that case, you would look at net yards punting stats, where Weatherford is ranked 23rd out of 33. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/sortableStats?div=NFL&table=punting&stat=puntNet&dir=descending On a side note, Ben Graham looks to be a top 10 punter this year.
 I also like the fact that Weatherford is able to carry out the fakes extremely well. UPDATE on him Looks like hes going to be cleared to play http://www.newsday.com/sports/footb...rford-s-sore-hamstring-feels-better-1.1681207
I didn't expect to be doing this much research on this but if you look at the the average starting LOS for opponents the Jets are 7th in the league. The Jet O has the 6th best starting LOS. It is not scientific but if you take those 2 stats into account you can figure there are going to be many times where Weatherford can not just air it out like Lechler can. Yes Lechler and many other punters have a stronger leg but punting from the 20 and punting from the 50 are going to change the stats some. Look at the top 10 punters in the league if you are judging by average punt. Only 2 of the 10 teams have a winning record and the other 8 are some of the worst teams in the league. That is where the field position comes into play letting them just air it out.
