No Alcohol Sunday

What else is new? I don't remember having alcohol at a night game since 2000 or so.

 

really? Haven't been to a night game in the Meadowlands since '85

they sell beer at JAGS games until the 3rd qtr....... (went to the Colts game last week)

They do need the $ though

 

They don't want 85,000 drunk people getting angry if (when) we inevitably pull an SOJ routine.

Win or lose, someone is going to drink themselves into oblivion Sunday and cause a major accident for which the Jets would be legally culpable. The money lost in sales is far less than the money lost in the lawsuit.

 

I agree with you. On NYE, somebody will do this. But the Jets game isn't for 4 more days.

Im going to get killed here...but you guys that are drunk during the game...I have seen you guys...do you truly enjoy the game?

Especially if they arent serving...lets say you get so drunk, to hold you over for as long as possible, eventually...after you stumble your way in and find your seat..or someone elses seat..the buzz wears off. I know you can go to a flask or something...but what happens then?

Im truly curious...as long as you dont drive that way..its no skin off my ass. I put up with you peeing near my shoes in the bathrooms...and your cold f'in beers hitting me in the back on a 30 degree day. It would be rude for me to grab a f'in baseball bat and crush your head in...but....can you enjoy a game straight? I used to have my sources to enjoy games and other stuff with...alcohol wasnt my choice. I never understood how you could enjoy the game.

It's funny, I really do, in my heart expect us to win, but I'll never say it, because I don't want to jinx it. The pessimism is a defense mechanism.

John...so Im clear..thats what Im talking about...I have walked in to the stadium with a comfortable buzz many time...but these guys that are fall down drunk...or slurring and screaming...and cant make it up the stairs without spilling half their beers? I watch these guys during a game..and I truly do not believe that they give a real shit of the outcome of the game.

When I said I was going to get 'wasted' before the game I mean I'm walking in drunk enough where the buzz holds for most of the game. By no means do I want to get so drunk where I stumble to my seat, that's just no fun.

 

Well I for one will be blackout drunk rooting my ass off for the Jets and when I wake up in the morning and check the score Ill know I did my job.
