I don't know if anybody has mentioned this but 2006 is conspicuously missing and if I am not mistaken that was Curtis Martin's last year. I would not be shocked if that is meant to be a surprise because no Jets celebration is complete without arguably the best Jet of all time.
I'm so fuckin glad I got tickets to this game instead of the atlanta game, I've only got to two games so far this year, week 2 Pats and carolina, I think I'm getting the best 2 of the season now going to this, I'm pumped sunday cannot come fast enough. I hope everyone can be just as loud as it was for the pats game, I know I wont be able to talk for a week
He's too busy being awesome(Hail to PITT)! I love that list right now. Season ticket holders should be out in force on Sunday. What better way to make this season than to do what the Giants couldn't this year and close out with a victory and a trip to the playoffs.
I loved Adrian Murrell, I've told this story on here before but when I lived in Phoenix alot of Cardinals lived around the area I lived in (Ahwatukee for those of you keeping score at home) and one day I go into this CD store. My car was covered in Jets stickers and as I get out of my car this blue Dodge Viper goes by me and the driver staring at me. The license plate was North Carolina and it read NYJ 29. Will never forget it. As I walk into the store teh driver comes over to me and of course I thought I pissed him off. Turns out it was Adrian Murrell. he wanted to talk to me. One of the nicest athletes I'd ever met in my life. He loved the Jets and I could tell he wanted to be part of it as he was stuck in Arizona who also made the playoffs that year (1998) but his heart was definately with the Jets. I wish I could attend this game so bad for the nostalgia. Seeing guys lik OBrien and Toon would send chills down my spine. And yes Dennis Byrd needs to be there. I tweeted Woody Johnson to get it done. I have no idea how the hell it works so who knows if he got it or not.
What a lineup. Lots of old faces I have not seen in a long time. Like someone else said, I may have to go retro Wayne for this one coming. Curtis has to show up. Just has to. And seeing Dennis Byrd would sure make it a complete lineup. Watching him on the day he was injured was a surreal day in the history of the Jets and the stadium.
Great list--Gastineau, Klecko, Lyons, O'Brien, Vinny, wow. Would love to have Keyshawn but he probably is doing TV.
I read on the Jets website where Randy Lange stated Curtis had an scheduling conflict as well as Keyshawn. He left the door open for Curtis though. He also stated Chad, Mo Lewis and Dennis Byrd were invited. He didn't think Chad would come due to being under contract with another team.
i hope the first half is going great. with this halftime show the stadium should be rockin one big party. and yes i now have off from work on monday
Some names I think should have been invited: Boomer Esiason, Pat Leahy, Ray Lucas, Kurt Sohn, Joe Fields, Brad Baxter
I just hope this thing is recorded somewhere so I can watch it forever. It'd be great if NBC showed it all but they will be too busy breaking down playoff matchups and promoting the games they are carrying.
it will not be on TV. halftime shows are never shown. only during the super bowl. somebody should video tape it
My new Cell gets great video....Me and the Wifey will be recording it from upstairs. Also, JIC no one noticed why some players aren't there. These are players who played for the JETS during our Meadowlands Era/Error. I'm also assuming Leon & Jenx will be on crutches...
Thanks RT! I hope the video comes out well for us at home/bar watching to view when you post it. Leon and Jenkins on crutches, you just know they are going to hype the crowd even more than it should/will be.
Apparently Curtis has a prior commitment, I think that's BS though. The Jets to have been planning this all year, not just because we are in the mix now. I know Wayne Chrebet is still heavily involved with the Jets organization, is there bad blood between Curtis and the Jets? I know Chrebet was honored one game at halftime, I think I remember something for Curtis but it's not crystal clear to me that he was.
