Chad w/Shotty: ■ In 2006 Chad Pennington completed 65 percent of his passes for a career-best 3,352 yards while Cotchery (82-961-6) and Laveranues Coles (91-1,098-6) combined for the most catches by any receiver tandem in franchise history.
He also had 17 TD vs. 16 INT... In 2002 in 15 games, he had 22 vs. 6. He had 3,120 yards = 3328 yards in 16 games. Team went 9-7. In 2003 he played 10 games, but had 13 vs. 12. 2139 yards = 3422 yards. Team went 6-10. In 2004 in 13 games, 16 vs 9. 2,673 yards = 3290 yards. Team went 10-6. In 2005 he played 3 games... In 2006, 16 games. 17 vs. 16. 3352 yards. 10-6. In 2007, 9 games. 10 vs. 9. 1,765 yards = 3138 yards. 4-12. In 2008 Dolphins, 16 games. 19 vs. 7. 3653 yards. 11-5. I went over it in another thread. No QB who has played under Schotty has had more than a +1 TD to INT differential.
I won't blame his meltdown all on schotty, his arm was torn and that had a lot to do with it. But I'll never forget 35 passes in the Seattle snow. That should have gotten him fired along with Mangini.
We have countless threads on Schotty, this thread is about bashing Favre. 40 passes and he still couldn't get it done.
Did you watch the game? Favre played very well last night. The Vikings special teams and defense let them down. In the cold/windy temperatures he's supposed to suck in now, he helped lead them back from 16-0 and 23-6 to tie it at 30-30 near the end of regulation. Go ahead and shit on him for his last couple of games, but he played very well last night.
Thats like saying Sanchez did well vs. the Patriots in Week 2. True he did, but really just the second half. Same with Favre yesterday.
So you're going to compare a game where Favre helped bring them from 3 scores back and put up 30 points to Sanchez' week 2 performance? It's not even close really.
He played well when it was too late, had he led his O to even a FG in the 1st half they win that game. he was dreadful in the 1st half and played great in the 2nd half but it wasn't enough.
Dreadful is a bit much. He threw less than 10 passes in the first half and only one was a bad pass. He was getting pretty much no protection and not much help from the running game. When you lead the offense to 30 points, that's good enough Junc. The defense and special teams lost that game.
He put the D in bad spots by not moving his offense until midway through the 3rd qtr. 30 pts should be enough but when you spot a team 16 pts it's hard to win a game. I love the excuses though-0 it was his Ol why they couldn't move the ball. I guess the Ol was great inn the 2nd half? I watched 3 qtrs of the game, he was awful in that first half. it looked exactly like last december then he got it going in the 3rd qtr and played like he did earlier in the year but it wasn't enough. I suppose the D was at fault for getting him and the O the ball in OT at the 35 yd line.
It's not excuses, it's the truth. Did you watch the game or just read the box score? Favre didn't spot the Bears 16 points. Please stop with your ridiculous bias.
What is the W-L for Favre the past two Decembers? Last year it was 1-3 with us, the Denver game was Nov 30 so we won't count it (to be nice), and another 1-3 this year? Further proof that a 40-year-old man can just drop into camp every year late and compete with 25-year-olds.
junc is a bigoted fool...his incessant ranting about Favre has just gotten ridiculous. Any jet fan who was glad to see him leave is just as big a fool as he is.
I didn't see a guy who couldn't compete last night. I saw a guy playing at a very high level and helping lead his team to 30 points in regulation. It would have been 31 and a "W" if they didn't have an XP blocked.
