Heck with this. You take the games one at a time - its about winning.

Polian from the Colts said they have earned the position they're in and they will take advantage of it however they believe it benefits their team regardless.

Flip side works - we're in position to take advantage of whatever breaks our schedule affords us. Would you want to forfeit the game if Palmer was injured.

Besides we win and we play them again the following week when they will be not only at full strength but well rested.

We deserve it the way we lost a game vs a team who was led by an everyday bum in Ted Ginn Jr. No way that man gets 2 return Tds vs other teams.

Bengals may be a little over rated where as the Jets are better than their record shows. Bengals will play their starters all game long and they don't worry me much. We took care of Wayne and we'll take good care of 85 as well. Our Run D has gotten pretty good as well so we should do good on D.

Their D is pretty good too. Number 2 rushing D but they have been giving up more than 200 yards in passing. Should be a cracker of a game!

I think Benson will gash us. Fucking joseph addai and donald brown gashed us a couple of times today. I'm kinda worried.

I think they let Larry Johnson run wild, its his "show me game" and Benson has some past health problems......

WTF? Did u say something? A gift? How? Colts had a rookie at QB thats why? So did the Jets. Manning left at 10-15 Colts and the next drive Jets sacked the QB from 'The Blind Side' (Thanks M.Oher). Does Manning have couple of extra eyes in the back of his head too? If Manning was there, it still would have been a strip sack + TD and Jets would have been up 18-15. Jets defended well and they won because of that.

Donald Brown Gashed us? I probably fell asleep when he was doing that. He had 15 carries and 22 yards. Joseph Addai had one good play. You'll see that probably once a game and its no big deal. Heck, we kept the number one rusher under a 100 yards and he may even go ahead and break the single season NFL rushing record.

Gashed? Are you kidding me? Gashed? You talk about gash?

In all likelihood, the Bengals are NOT going to be playing for the 3rd seed. If the Jets-Bengals game gets flexed, then the Bengals go in likely knowing their fate...unless the Texans upset the Pats.

If the Patriots win in the morning, the Bengals have NO shot at the 3rd seed. They would lose the tiebreaker to the Patriots on the 4th tiebreaker, strength of victory. At that point, they'd look at how things have fallen together for the remainder of teams:

Baltimore and Denver are BOTH likely wins against the Raiders and Chiefs, respectively.

In that scenario, the Bengals get to choose their opponent. Beat the Jets and they're stuck with the Ravens in the first round. Sit starters for at least a half and you get a good look at a Jets team that then has to travel and play you at home the following week. I'd imagine the Bengals give rest a serious consideration at that point.

Of course, that Texans upset changes everything. In that scenario, the Bengals most definitely play for the 3rd seed and a chance to avoid the Ravens in the first round.

Oh, and to the guy who said "they want a chance to go 7-0 in division"...WTF? They know how hard that is, and likely want no part of the Ravens a 3rd time.

This is really not even in question. Cincy's first priority by far will be to have healthy and well rested key players - no doubt.

Bengals still have a lot to play for. They have a possible AFC Championship game home field advantage on line. Here's how:

If the Bengals end up at number 3 by beating us and win the first playoff game (hope not), they will face the Chargers. If they beat the Chargers, and Colts don't make it to the next round, Bengals will have the home field advantage.

If they end up 4th, they'll play Jets. If they win that first playoff game (again, hope not - ***knocked on wood***), they'll play probably the Colts and if they win and Chargers get through to the AFC championship, Chargers will have the home field.

So, they have a potential at clinching the AFC Championship home field advantage if a few results fall in to their favor.

I think they would rather play the Ravens than the Jets. They swept the Ravens this year so they know they can beat them. Jets have #1 D and #1 rushing game. If Sanchez plays well (obviously, big if), the Jets can beat any team.

I think the Jets beating the bengals works out in there favor because we will probably face like denver and if we make it past them the colts so they wouldnt have a division rivilary to work about

Yeah right, Manning would've stepped up in the pocket and completed a 20 yard pass. GYHOYA buddy, you're living in fantasy land if you think that would've been a strip sack against manning. I can't help but smile at that statement it's so absurd.

Its different. Atlanta played its best players to win the game.
The question is whether bengals keep palmer (who gets hurt) out of harms way.

(To me == what the colts did today made NO sense.Unless of course -- manning broke his leg -- and we saw today they are playing without a net.

The Bengals lost one of their best defenders today when Linebacker Rey Mauluga broke his leg. Carson has been nursing a bad hand all year, and their oline is banged uo, too.

There is no way they play their starters for an extended period, especially on defense.

I woulden't either just for the fact that if they go all out and lose to the Jets and then have to see them the following week, it would be a demoralizing blow to the stomach for cincy to have to see the same team who took your best shot and did better the next weekend.

At least with backups, rest and confidence is in tact. Obviously guys like Coles would take great pleasure in 1-upping the Jets and also some Bengals will look for Feeley's head after what he said on Chris Henry but really it'd be stupid for Marvin to want the Jets to lose......nobody is going to be the Ravens 3x in a year anyways.

Watched today's games with some Bengal's fans. They still remember vividly losing Palmer on the first play of the 2006 first playoff game against the Steelers.

Guarentee they're voting for healthy and well rested versus 3rd seed over fourth.

God I hate saying this for the second week in a row, but go Patriots. Give Cincy nothing to play for...I think I am going to hurl.
