Pennington's salary was 4.8 million with a 7.8 million cap hit. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/football/nfl/jets/2008-08-07-pennington-cut_N.htm
We wouldn't need to trade for Vick, it's his contract opinion on whether he returns to Philly or not. Anyway though i'm not sure if signing Vick now would be the best thing(unless we get a OC that actually can use him).
I'd gladly bring back Chad as a backup. He can come in at any time and manage the game. I have way more confidence in him than Clemens as our #2.
I believe the exact opposite that the original poster is saying. If Sanchez would stop throwing long on every pass attempt then we would have more success and he would have less interception. Penny would just bore you to sleep with his dink and dunk , but it seem we don't do that any more. There was one play in the Atlanta Game where crothery ran down the RT side line and was beyond the first down marker by ten Yard. Sanchez throws the ball all the way down there with the familiar out come and if crothery breaks off his route and comes back to the ball , we have a first down and still keep the ball. I think Sanchez could learn a thing or two from Chad. Where Sanchez would excel is he can throw the long ball that Chad couldn't.
Yes because if 2002- to present has shown us Jet fans anything, this franchise desperately needs Chad.
But but but but he brings heart and grit and other such intangibles that no one else can bring to the team!!
Bring Chad back as the QB coach He's a smart guy and I think down the road he'll be a great coach sooner rather than later. I think he'd do wonders developing a young QB.
Clemens is a moron. The guy wouldn't have been a good QB even if we had the brightest minds in football working with him. Being a backup QB and teaching is nothing at all like being a full-time QB coach.
Sometimes I read this site and feel like I really am the only one who remembers how Jets fans literally ran Pennington out of town. You'd think he was Johnny Unitas by the way people wax nostalgic about him.
