This thread suggests that Revis be manned up on Coles next week.

The Jet Achilles heel on defense are the receivers that Revis is not covering. Coles, likely plays that role next week. And you know that jerk has a sharper than normal chip on his shoulder for the Jets next week.

With the Bengals playing for little next week, Coles is likely the lone Bengal with a deep motivation for the game. I suggest Revis gets the assignment of shutting him down, and let Shephard deal with #85 with well timed help.

If Ochocinco is on the field, Revis will be covering him.

Something tells me that coles is always more motivated than ochocinco... I understand what you're saying, but I think revis will still be on Chad.

The Bengals are playing for a heckuva lot next week - namely not to have their 1st round playoff opponent be a team that just beat them and has an edge on. I expect them to go all out to beat the Jets and I think Revis should be on OchoCinco.

Interesting proposition but I think #1 sticks #1. So Revis should stick Ochocinco until he comes out, if he does. Coles is kind of a forgotten entity out there for the Bengals. I would be surprised if he has 600 yards this year.

If Ocho Cinco is on the field and Revis is on Coles, then Rex (YES REX RYAN), should be fired.

Coles' motivation shouldn't and will not alter our game plan.

If the Jets lose next week then Cincy gets Denver, Baltimore or Pittsburgh in round 1. Denver beat them on a fluky play week 1 but they're 4-0 vs the other 2 teams. I think they want to beat the Jets and go for the grab bag. At least I would.

The Jets achilles heel is the receivers not being covered by Revis? And here I thought it was a subpar passing game. Who knew that part of the #1 passing defense in the NFL could be such a liability?

Coles may be more motivated than OchoCinco but he's a way worse receiver. Revis should be on #85, no question.

Moreover, OchoCinco is exactly the kind of 2 move possession receiver that Revis dominates (and Sheppard commits pass interference on.)

4 - 0 in close games against teams that know them better than a Jets team seeing them for 1 half would. I'd imagine they'd rather rest and let us show them exactly what they'll be facing the next week.

Bengals still have a lot to play for. They have a possible AFC Championship game home field advantage on line. Here's how:

If the Bengals end up at number 3 by beating us and win the first playoff game (hope not), they will face the Chargers. If they beat the Chargers, and Colts don't make it to the next round, Bengals will have the home field advantage.

If they end up 4th, they'll play Jets. If they win that first playoff game (again, hope not - ***knocked on wood***), they'll play probably the Colts and if they win and Chargers get through to the AFC championship, Chargers will have the home field.

So, they have a potential at clinching the AFC Championship home field advantage if a few results fall in to their favor.

^And to answer your question, 24 will be on 85. Coles is short, slow and is just not that good anymore and Sheppard should do a good job of covering him.

I don't see why Coles would be more motivated to play well against us. Its not like he was treated poorly, in fact im pretty sure he had 7 mil guaranteed with us which he turned down so he could be released.
